Farklı okul türlerinde görev yapan öğretmenlerin spiritüel iyi oluş düzeyleri ile mutluluk düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, farklı okul türlerinde görev yapan öğretmenlerin spiritüel iyi oluş düzeyleri ile mutluluk düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Araştırmada ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini İstanbul ilinde farklı okul türlerinde görev yapan 390 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada tabakalı örneklem yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Okullar İlkokul, Ortaokul, İmam Hatip Ortaokulu, İmam Hatip Lisesi, Fen-Anadolu Lisesi, Meslek Lisesi olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu okullardan tesadüfi örneklem yöntemiyle 3’er okul seçilmiştir. Veriler, “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” “Spiritüel İyi Oluş Ölçeği” ve “Oxford Mutluluk Ölçeği” yardımıyla toplanmıştır. Bağımsız değişkenler cinsiyet, yaş, öğrenim durumu, kıdem yılı, çalışılan okul türüdür. Öğretmenlere uygulanan ölçeklerden elde edilen veriler SPSS kullanılarak istatistiksel sonuçlara çevrilmiştir. Veriler; Bağımsız Grup t Testi Tekniği, Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi Tekniği, Pearson Korelasyon ve Regresyon Analizi ile analiz edilmiştir. Bulgulara göre, cinsiyet değişkeni ve spiritüel iyi oluş puanı arasında anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Kadın öğretmenlerde spiritüel iyi oluş düzeyi erkek öğretmenlere göre anlamlı olarak daha yüksektir. Cinsiyet değişkenine göre mutluluk düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamaktadır. Öğretmenlerin yaşlarına göre spiritüel iyi oluş puanıyla spiritüel iyi oluş ölçeği alt boyutları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamaktadır. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin yaşları ile mutluluk düzeyleri arasında anlamlı fark saptanmamıştır. Öğretmenlerin öğrenim durumuna ve kıdemine göre spiritüel iyi oluş ve mutluluk düzeyleri arasında anlamlı farklılık bulunmamaktadır. Öğretmenlerin çalıştıkları okul türüne göre spiritüel iyi oluş toplam puanı arasında anlamlı farklılık bulunmaktadır. İmam Hatip Liselerinde çalışan v öğretmenlerin spiritüel iyi oluş düzeyleri en yüksektir. Öğretmenlerin çalıştıkları okul türüne göre mutluluk düzeyleri arasında anlamlı fark bulunmaktadır. Fen-Anadolu Lisesinde çalışan öğretmenlerin mutluluk düzeyi en yüksektir. Sonuç olarak spiritüel iyi oluş toplam puanı ile mutluluk düzeyleri arasında zayıf düzeyde ve pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur. Yordayıcı değişkenlerin mutluluk üzerindeki göreli önem sırası ise iyi oluş toplam puanı, aşkınlık, doğayla uyum ve anomidir.

The purpose of this study is eveluating the relationship between spiritual well being and level of happiness at teachers from different kinds of schools. Relational screening model was used at this study. Study population was consisted from 390 teachers who are employees in Istanbul at different kinds of schools. Stratified sampling method was used at this research. Kinds of schools were selected as primary schools, elemantary schools, imam hatip elemantary schools, science – anatolian highschools, vocational high schools and imam hatip highschools. Three schools from each kind of school, were selected by random sampling method. Data was obtained via ‘Personal information form’, ‘Spiritual Well-being Scale’ and ‘Oxford Happiness Questionnaire’. Independent variables were gender, age, educational background, years of seniority and kind of school . Data which was obtained via data collection scales, was transformed to statistical results by statistical package for social sciences (Spss 18). Data was analyzed by independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation and regression analysis. As a result of this study, it was found that there was statistically significant difference between genders and spiritual well being total score. Spiritual well being score was significantly higher at female teachers than male teachers. There was no statistically significant difference at level of happiness between female and male teachers. There wasn’t any statistically significant difference at spiritual well-being total score and dimensions of spiritual well-being scale for different ages. Also there wasn’t any detected significant difference at level of happiness for different ages. When it is compared to spiritual well being and level of happiness with teachers’ educational background and their seniority level; there was no statistically significant difference. There was statistically vii significant difference at spiritual well-being total score between different kinds of schools. Spiritual well being level was detected highest among teachers who were employee at imam hatip highschools. Level of happiness was found significantly different between the kinds of schools. Level of happiness was detected highest at science – anatolian highschools teachers. As a conclusion it was detected that there is a weak but positive relationship between spiritual well being total score and level of happiness. The significance rate of predictor variables on happiness, were well-being total score, transcendence, harmony with nature, and anomie, respectively.
