Etik açıdan çocuğun değeri

Abstract

Tüm çocuklar biyopsikososyal gelişimsel kapasitelerinden dolayı korunmaya ihtiyaç duyarlar; ancak bazı çocuklar risk altında olup özel korunmaya ihtiyaç duyarlar. Bu noktada kurtarıcı araçlar olarak devreye asgari standartlar sunan Cenevre Çocuk Hakları Bildirgesi, BM Çocuk Hakları Bildirgesi, BM Çocuk Haklarına Dair Sözleşme, Lanzarote Sözleşmesi, BM Havana Kuralları gibi uluslararası belgeler girmektedir. Bu küresel araçlarla birlikte geldiğimiz nokta çocuklar açısından daha olumlu bir yer olsa da dünyanın pek çok yerinde çocuğa yönelik bakış açılarının ve davranışların hala çocukları olumsuz etkileyen bir seviyede olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu nedenle dünyanın neresinde olunursa olunsun etik açıdan çocuğun değerinin bilgisini yaşama geçirme ihtiyacı ortaya çıkmaktadır. Buradan hareketle çalışmamızın amacı; etik çerçevede çocuğun değeri kavramının kuramsalını göstermek ve birbirine yakın gözüken fakat teori ve uygulamada farklılaşan iki kavram olarak “çocuğun değeri” ile “çocuğun yüksek yararı” ifadelerini anlamaktır.

All children need protection due to their biopsychosocial developmental capacity; however, some children are at risk and need special protection. At this point, international documents providing minimum standards come into play as a rescue tool. Although the point we have reached with global tools is a more positive place for children, it is known that in many parts of the world, the attitudes and behaviors towards children are still at a level that negatively affects children. For this reason, the need to practice the knowledge of the value of the child in terms of ethics arises no matter where you are in the world. The aim of the study is to form a theoretical basis of the concept of the value of the child in the ethical framework and to understand the expressions “the value of the child” and “the high benefit of the child” as two concepts that seem close to each other but differ in theory and practice. Thus, it is aimed for those working in the field of child welfare to protect children in all conditions and ensure their empowerment. In this study, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and a literature review were used.
