Koronavirüs (COVID-19) Pandemisinin Medikal Turizm Faaliyetlerine Etkisi

Abstract

Geçmişten günümüze birçok pandemi hastalık meydana gelmiştir. Pandemi hastalıkların en önemli özelliği küresel ölçekte olması ve tüm birçok ülkeyi etkisi altına almasıdır. Pandemiler, ülkeleri başta sağlık olmak üzere ekonomik, kültürel, politik gibi pek çok alanda olumsuz yönde etkilemektedir. Ülkeler pandeminin etkisi azaltabilmek için çeşitli alanlarda önlemler alarak politikalar geliştirmektedirler. Bu süreçte en önemli alanlardan biri de medikal turizmdir. Medikal turizm bir ülkeye ciddi bir gelir kaynağı sağlamaktadır. Medikal turizm sayesinde ülkelere döviz giriş çıkışı sağlanmaktadır. Pandemi hastalıklar medikal turizmi önemli ölçüde etkisi altına almıştır. 31 Aralık 2019 ile 10 Mart 2020 tarihleri arasında hükümetlerin tedbir niteliğinde uyguladıkları ülkelere giriş çıkış yasakları, salgının tespit edildiği bölgelerde uygulanan karantinalar, iptali söz konusu olan uluslararası çapta spor ve sanat etkinlikleri, kongreler ve seyahat kısıtlamaları gibi turizm sektörünü doğrudan etkileyen özel önlemler ile birçok medikal turist sağlık hizmetlerinden faydalanmasına engel olmuştur. Bu derlemede, pandemi hastalıkların özellikle covid-19 pandemisinin medikal turizm üzerindeki ulusal ve uluslararası alanda etkilerini belirlemektir. Çalışma bulguları sonucunda elde edilen bilgiler doğrultusunda yeni koronavirüsün ülke ekonomilerinde etkileri uzun süre hissedilebilecek türden zararlar oluşturduğu ve medikal turizm sektörünün de bu zararlardan doğrudan olumsuz yönde etkilendiği yönündedir

Many pandemic diseases have occurred from past to present. The most important feature of pandemic diseases is that it is on a global scale and it affects all countries. Pandemics affect countries negatively in many areas such as health, economic, cultural and political. Countries are developing policies by taking measures in various fields in order to reduce the impact of the pandemic. One of the most important areas in this process is medical tourism. Medical tourism provides a serious source of income to a country. Thanks to medical tourism, foreign currency inflows are provided to the countries. Pandemic diseases have significantly affected medical tourism. Between the 31st of December 2019 and 10th of March 2020, special measures that directly affect the tourism sector such as the prohibition of entry and exit to the countries governed by governments, quarantines in the regions where the epidemic is detected, international sports and art events, congresses and travel restrictions in question. In this review, to determine the effects of pandemic diseases especially covid-19 pandemic on medical tourism in the national and international arena. In line with the information obtained as a result of the findings of the study, the effects of the new coronavirus on the economies of the country create the kind of damages that can be felt for a long time and the medical tourism sector is directly affected by these losses.
