Öğretmenlerin mizaçları ile güç mesafesi algıları arasındaki ilişki

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, öğretmenlerin mizaç özellikleri ve güç mesafesi algıları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. İstanbul Beyoğlu İlçesi'nde görev yapan 358 öğretmenden veri toplanmıştır. Veriler "Güç Mesafesi Ölçeği" ve "Dokuz Tip Mizaç Ölçeği" ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modelindedir. Araştırma kapsamında değişkenlerin frekans dağılımları, bağımsız örneklem t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi, korelasyon ve regresyon analizleri yapılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgulara göre; cinsiyet, medeni durum, kıdem, okul türü, ve branş bakımından güç mesafesi algısı ve mizaç H anlamlı düzeyde farklılaştığı saptanmıştır. Öğretmenlerin algılanan güç mesafesi ile (DTM4) ve (DTM5) mizaç tiplerinin pozitif yönde ve anlamlı ilişkisi olduğu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca, (DTM4) alt boyutunun güç mesafesini anlamlı bir biçimde düşük düzeyde yordadığı, bu mizaç türünde yüksek puan alan katılımcıların yüksek güç mesafesi algısına sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırmadaki sonuçlar, öğretmenlerin mizaç özellikleri konusunda güncel veri sağlayan ve güç mesafesi algısı ile ilişkilendirilebilecek unsurların ele alındığı bir çalışma olduğunu ve ilerleyen dönemlerde yapılacak çalışmalara ışık tutabileceği düşünülmektedir.

This study aims to examine the relationship between teachers' power distance perception and temperament characteristics. Within the scope of the study, a survey study of 358 teachers working in Istanbul Beyoğlu District was conducted. The data measurement tools included in the survey study are "Demographic Information Form", Power Distance Scale and Nine Type Temperament (NTT) Scale. In the research, descriptive, comparative and relational screening models were applied. Frequency distributions, independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance, correlation and regression analyses were conducted. According to the findings obtained from the study, power distance perception and temperament subscales differed significantly in terms of demographic variables. According to the results of the correlational analysis, it was found that there was a positive and low level significant relationship between the perceived power distance and (DTM4) and (DTM5) temperament subscales. In addition, it was determined that the (DTM4)subscale significantly and weakly predicted the power distance. The results of the study are considered as a study on the factors that can be associated with power distance perception and providing up-to-date data on temperament characteristics of the teachers and it will be able to shed light on future studies.
