Bilim ve sanat merkezlerinin yönetimine ilişkin öğretmen görüşleri

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı Bilim ve Sanat Merkezlerinin (BİLSEM) yönetimine ilişkin öğretmen görüşlerini incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2020-2021 eğitim-öğretim yılında 9 ilde, 11 farklı BİLSEM'de görev yapmakta olan 19 öğretmenden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme yolu ile belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgubilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılarak BİLSEM öğretmenleri ile görüşme gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formuyla elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz ile çözümlenmiştir. İçerik analizi ile kodlar belirlenmiş ve kodlardan alt tema ve temalar oluşturulmuştur. Elde edilen bulgulara göre katılımcılar, BİLSEM'lerin özel yeteneklilerin ihtiyacını karşılamada yeterli olmadığı, buna karşın BİLSEM'e öğretmen atama kriterlerinin yeterli olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Katılımcı öğretmenler, BİLSEM'de öğretmen olarak çalışmanın birçok zorluğu beraberinde getirdiğine, proje baskısının, materyal ve maddi imkânsızlıkların süreci zorlaştıran unsurlar olduğuna dikkat çekmişlerdir. Katılımcılar tarafından BİLSEM yönergesinin yetersiz olduğu ve geliştirilmesi gerektiğini ifade edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte BİLSEM'e yönetici alımında öğretmen alımında gösterilen hassasiyetin gösterilmediği, bu durumun BİLSEM işleyişinde aksaklıklara sebep olduğu vurgulanmıştır. Katılımcı öğretmenler, BİLSEM'deki öğretmenlerin yöneticilerinden maddi destek ve eğitim desteği beklediklerini, öğretmenlerin mesleki gelişimi için gerekli çalışmaların yapılmadığını bildirmişlerdir.

The purpose of this study is to examine the opinions of teachers on the management of Science and Art Centers (BİLSEM). The study group of the research consists of 19 teachers working in 11 different BİLSEMs in 9 provinces in the 2020-2021 academic year. The study group of the research was determined by purposive sampling which is one of the criterion sampling methods. Phenomenology design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. BİLSEM teachers were interviewed using a semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher. The data obtained with the semi-structured interview form were analyzed by content analysis. Codes were determined by content analysis and sub-themes and themes were created from the codes. According to the findings, the participants stated that BİLSEMs are not sufficient to meet the needs of gifted students, but the criteria for assigning teachers to BİLSEM are sufficient. The teachers pointed out that working as a teacher in BİLSEM brought with it many difficulties, and the pressure of the project, material and financial impossibilities were the factors that made the process difficult. It was stated by the participants that the BİLSEM directive was insufficient and needed to be developed. However, it was emphasized that the sensitivity shown in the recruitment of teachers to BİLSEM was not shown in the recruitment of administrators, and this situation caused disruptions in the operation of BİLSEM. The teachers reported that teachers in BİLSEM expect financial and educational support from their administrators, and that necessary studies are not carried out for the professional development of teachers.
