Kırsal sosyal hizmet ve sürdürülebilirlik odağında kadın kooperatifleri: Eko-feminist perspektiften bir inceleme

Abstract

Modernleşme sürecinin başlangıcı kabul edilen Sanayi Devriminden sonra dünyada kentleşme, köyden kente göç, afetlerde artış gibi çevresel ve sosyolojik birçok dönüşüm yaşanmıştır. Bu durum doğal kaynakların azalması, tarımsal üretimde azalma ve kırsal bölgelerin yoksullaşması gibi sorunları da beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu sorunlarla mücadele etmek için sürdürülebilir kalkınma modeli gelişmiş ve küresel çapta yaygınlaşmıştır. Sürdürülebilir kalkınmanın temel amacı; toplulukların varlığını sürdürebilmesi için çevresel, sosyal ve ekonomik ihtiyaçlarının gelecek nesiller de göz önünde bulundurularak karşılanması olarak özetlenebilir. Sürdürülebilir kalkınma temelinde cinsiyet eşitliği, çevresel adalet ve ekonomik fırsat eşitliği gibi konuları önceleyerek toplum refahını arttırmayı önermektedir. Kooperatifçilik ise sürdürülebilir kalkınmada kullanılan en yaygın yöntemlerden biridir. Bu araştırmada Karadeniz Bölgesi’nin bir ilinde faaliyet gösteren kadın kooperatiflerinin sürdürülebilir kırsal kalkınmadaki rolü ve kırsal alanda yaşayan kadınların yaşamlarında yarattığı dönüşümler feminist bakış açısıyla incelenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda kadın kooperatiflerinin başkanları ile gerçekleştirilen odak grup görüşmelerinden elde edilen verilere göre kadın kooperatiflerinin sürdürülebilirliği esas alarak faaliyetler yürüttüğü ve kırsal kalkınma sürecine önemli katkılarda bulunduğu ortaya konmuştur. Ayrıca kooperatiflerin kırsal bölgede yaşayan kadınları sosyal ve ekonomik yönlerden güçlendirdiği tespit edilmiştir.

After the Industrial Revolution, which is considered the beginning of the modernization process, many environmental and sociological transformations such as urbanization, migration from villages to cities, and an increase in disasters have occurred in the world. This situation has brought about problems such as the decrease in natural resources, the decrease in agricultural production, and the impoverishment of rural areas. The sustainable development model has been developed and spread globally to combat these problems. The main purpose of sustainable development can be summarized as meeting the environmental, social, and economic needs of communities in order to sustain their existence, taking into account future generations. Sustainable development proposes to increase social welfare by prioritizing issues such as gender equality, environmental justice, and equal economic opportunities. Cooperatives are one of the most common methods used in sustainable development. In this study, the role of women's cooperatives operating in a province in the Black Sea Region in sustainable rural development and the transformations they have created in the lives of women living in rural areas were examined from an ecofeminist perspective. Consequently, according to the data obtained from the focus group interviews held with the chairmen of women's cooperatives, it was revealed that women's cooperatives carry out their activities based on sustainability and make significant contributions to the rural development process. It has also been determined that cooperatives strengthen women living in rural areas socially and economically.
