Onkoloji kliniğinde çalışan hemşirelerin yaşadığı ölüm kaygısı ve manevi destek algıları

Abstract

Bu çalışma onkoloji kliniğinde çalışan hemşirelerin yaşadığı ölüm kaygısı ve manevi destek algısı düzeylerinin belirlenmesi ve aralarındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipteki bu çalışma bir eğitim araştırma hastanesinde onkoloji kliniklerinde bakım veren 100 hemşire ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin toplanmasında "Hemşire Tanıtım Formu", "Thorson-Powell Ölüm Kaygısı Ölçeği" ve "Manevi Destek Algısı Ölçeği" kullanıldı. Veriler 15 Nisan 2022 – 15 Mayıs 2022 tarihleri arasında katılımcılar ile yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi ile toplandı. Çalışmada ölüm kaygısı ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 23,23±21,12, manevi destek algısı ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması ise 55,7±6,32 olarak bulundu. Bu sonuca göre onkoloji hemşirelerinin düşük düzeyde ölüm kaygısı yaşadığı ve manevi destek algılarının ise yüksek düzeyde olduğu görüldü. Erkek hemşirelerin ölüm kaygısı daha yüksek idi. Hasta ve/veya ailesine manevi açıdan destek olan hemşirelerde ölüm kaygısı daha düşük düzeyde, manevi destek algısı daha yüksek düzeydedir. Ölüm kaygısı ile manevi destek algısı arasında negatif yönlü anlamlı ilişki mevcuttur.

This study was carried out to determine the levels of death anxiety and spiritual support perception experienced by nurses working in the oncology clinics and to examine the relationship between them. This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted with 100 nurses providing care in oncology clinics in a training and research hospital. "Nurse Description Form", "Thorson-Powell Death Anxiety Scale" and "Spiritual Support Perception Scale" were used to collect data. The data were collected between 15 April 2022 and 15 May 2022 by face-to-face interviews with the participants. In the study, the mean death anxiety scale total score was 23.23±21.12, and the mean spiritual support perception scale total score was 55.7±6.32. It was seen that oncology nurses had low level of death anxiety and their perception of spiritual support was high. Death anxiety of male nurses was higher. The level of death anxiety was lower and the perception of spiritual support was higher in nurses who provided spiritual support to the patient and/or family. A negative and statistically significant relationship was found between the death anxiety of oncology nurses and the perception of spiritual support.
