Yetiştirme yurdundaki ergenlerin sosyal ve psikolojik sorunlarının incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırma, yetiştirme yurdunda kalan ergenlerin sosyal ve psikolojik sorunlarının neler olduğunu tespit etmek ve sorunlarıyla başetme yöntemlerini incelemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2016 yılında İstanbul ili Küçükçekmece ilçesinden küme örneklem yöntemi ile seçilen bir erkek yetiştirme yurdunda bakım verilen 13-20 yaşları arasındaki 41 ergen oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri “Ergen Problem Tarama Listesi” ve “Ergenlerde Sorunlarla Başa Çıkma Ölçeği” kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre örneklem grubunun en fazla sorun yaşadığı alanın “gelecekle ilgili düşünce ve istekler” alt boyutunda olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ergenlerin sorunlarıyla başa çıkma yöntemleri arasında en çok başvurulan yöntemin “kendini geliştirme”, en az başvurulan yöntemin ise (doğal olarak) “sorunları aile ile çözme” olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca ergenlerin kuruma gelme yaşlarına, anne ve babalarının ziyaret etme durumuna ve dertleşecek kişinin varlığına bağlı olarak sorunlarıyla başa çıkma yöntemlerinin değişiklik gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda kurum çalışanlarına ve devlet okullarındaki öğretmenlere sosyal hizmet odaklı öneriler sunulmuştur.

This research was carried out to determine the social and psychological problems of adolescents who living in the orphanages and to examine the methods of coping with their problems. The sample of the study consisted of 41 adolescents between the ages of 13 and 20 who were given care in a male orphanage in 2016, which was selected by the cluster sampling method from Küçükçekmece district of İstanbul province. The data of the study were obtained by using “Adolescent Problem Screening List” and “Coping with Problems in Adolescents Scale”. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the area where the sample group had the most problems was in the sub-dimension of “the thoughts and desires about the future”. Among the methods of coping with the problems of adolescents, it is seen that the most commonly used method is “self-development” and the least applied method (naturally) is “solving problems with the family”. In addition, it was determined that the methods of coping with the depending on the age at which the adolescents settled, their parents' visiting status and the presence of the person who will explain the sorrow. In line with the data obtained, social service-oriented suggestions were presented to the employees of the institution and teachers in the public schools.
