Abstract

Damgalayan ve damgalanan arasında geçen iletişimin etiyolojisini ve toplum içerisinde yarattığı kültürel ve sosyal çıktılarını araştırmak ve açımlamak birçok sosyal bilimin konusu olmuştur. Damganın toplumsal ve bireysel düzlemde yarattığı sorunları telafi edebilmek için damga teorisinin boyutlarının iyi bilinmesi gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada damganın hem kavramsal hem de teorik alt yapısı incelenerek sosyal çalışma ile bağlantıları bulunmaya çalışılacaktır. Sosyal çalışmanın odağında bulunan tüm bireyler damgalanma etkisini de barındırmaktadır. Bundan dolayı sosyal çalışmacıların damgaya olan farkındalığı tüm uygulama alanlarında içselleştirilmesi gerekmektedir. Sosyal çalışma ve damga alanına yönelik ülkemizde çalışma yapılmamasından dolayı bir eksiklik olarak görülerek bu çalışma ortaya konulmuştur.

Investigating and explaining the etiology of the relationship between those who stigmatize and those who are stigmatized as well as the cultural and social output created within the society has been the subject of many social sciences. In order to compensate for the problems created by the stigma on the social and individual field, the dimension of the stigma theory must be well known. In this study, both conceptual and theoretical background of the stigma will be examined and it will be tried to establish its connection with social work. All individuals in the focus of social work fields also include the stigmatizing effect. Therefore, social workers' awareness of the stigma must be internalized in all areas of practice. Due to the lack of work in our country regarding social work and stigma field, this study was presented as a deficiency.
