Kadıasker Mustafa İzzet Efendi’nin Sultan İkinci Mahmud ile Musikî Ve Resmi İlişkileri

Abstract

Çocuk yaşta yüksek eğitim için İstanbul’a gönderilen Kadıasker Mustafa İzzet Efendi, hocası yoluyla Sultan II.Mahmud ile tanıştırılır ve saraya bürokrat yetiştiren önemli eğitim kurumlarına kaydettirilir. 1821 civarı Enderun’dan mezun oluncada saray içi hizmetlere alınarak II.Mahmud’un Huzur Fasıllarına katılmasına izin verilir. Bu durum sonraki on yıl boyunca devam eder. II.Mahmud 1826’da Yeniçeri ve Mehter Ocağı’nı ilga edip Batılı danışmanların rehberliğinde kıyafet ve eğitim açısından Batılı görünümlü yeni bir ordu ile Muzıka-ı Hûmâyun’u kurar. Muzıka-ı Hûmayun için Avrupa’dan askerî müsizyenleri getirtip onlara paşa rutbesi ile görev verir. Bu dönemde ayrıca tüm saray ricaline de Avrupa-i tarzda kıyafetler giyme mecburiyeti getirir. Bu dönemde Mustafa İzzet Efendi Surre Alayı ile hac yolculuğuna çıkar ve hac dönüşü Kahire’ye geçer. Daha sonra İstanbul’a dönünce saraydaki vazifesine gitmez. Ancak bir sure sonra iradesi dışında meydana gelen zor durumlar onu saraydaki görevine tekrar dönmeye mecbur bırakır. Nitel araştırma türünde gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmada şimdiye kadar yapılmış yayınlarda pek değinilmeyen Kadıasker Mustafa İzzet Efendi’nin Saraydaki görevinden uzaklaşma nedenleri konusu ele alınmıştır. Ayrıca onun hac için İstanbul’dan ayrılış ve dönüş tarihleri konusunda mevcut olan farklılık ve belirsizlikler netleştirilmeye çalışılmış ve onun hac dönüşü Sultan Mahmud’a yakalanma olayının arka planı incelenmiştir.

Mustafa İzzet Efendi was sent to constantinopol at a young age. After madrasa he was introduced to Sultan Mahmud II who opened ways of the state’s higher education institutions for him. After his graduation, he was transphered to the palace and soon was asked to join Sultan’s weekly musical gatherings. Sultan Mahmud, to upgrade the running of the Empire, sped up westernisation policies. He abolished the old Janissaries and Mahtar band in 1826, set up a new Western style military music band and appointed managers (as Pasha) from musicians of Europe. Mustapha Effendi took on Hajj journey. After Hajj, he did not returm to Istanbul, ,nstead had a long stop over in Egypt. When he returned to Istanbul, he did not to go back to his palace job. But some unexpected events forced him to return to his palace duties. In this compilation research article, attention were focused on Military Judge Mustapha Izzet Affendi’s reasons for trying to get away from his palace duties. Then his departure and arrival dates to and from Istanbul on which many different suggestions exist were tried to clarified. Lastly the right answers were searched for his so called “coincidental arrest” by Sultan Mahmud II via looking at events which took place before the arrest
