Meslek Lisesi Öğrencilerinin Yaşam Becerilerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Çalışmanın amacı, meslek liselerinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin yaşam becerilerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada yaşam becerileri ölçeğinin demografik değişkenlere göre ve ölçeğin alt boyutlarına göre nasıl bir ilişki gösterdiği incelenmiştir. Bu araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini Gaziantep’te öğrenim gören mesleki ve teknik lisesi öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi Gaziantep ili Şahinbey ve Şehitkamil İlçe Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü’ne bağlı resmi mesleki ve teknik anadolu liselerinde öğrenim gören 737 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada şehrin farklı semtlerinden küme örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen üç farklı mesleki- teknik lise belirlenmiş, bu liselerde okuyan öğrenciler örneklem grubuna dahil edilmiştir. Böylece araştırmanın örneklemini veri toplama aracını gönüllü bir şekilde doldurmayı kabul eden toplam 737 mesleki-teknik lise öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada verilerin toplanmasında “Yaşam Becerileri Ölçeği” ile araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan “Demografik Bilgi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde öncelikle betimsel istatistikler incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın bağımlı değişkenleri ile bağımsız değişkenleri arasındaki ilişkiler bağımsız örneklemler t-testi, korelasyon analizi ve ANOVA teknikleri ile analiz edilmiştir. İstatiksel anlamlılık düzeyi p<0.05 olarak kabul edilmiştir. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre stresle başa çıkmada erkek öğrencilerin, eleştirel düşünmede ise kız öğrencilerin yaşam becerisinin anlamlı derecede daha yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. Genel olarak üst sınıflardaki öğrencilerin yaşam becerisinin alt sınıflara göre daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir.

The aim of the study is to examine the life skills of students studying at vocational high schools. In the study, it was examined how the life skills scale showed a relationship according to the demographic variables and the sub-dimensions of the scale. In this study, relational screening model research design, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The universe of the research consists of vocational and technical high school students studying in Gaziantep. The sample of the research consisted of 737 students from 3 schools studying in the official vocational/technical Anatolian high school affiliated to the Şahinbey and Şehitkamil District Directorate of National Education in Gaziantep. In the study, three different vocational - technical high schools were selected from different districts of the city by cluster sampling method, and the students in these high schools were included in the sample group. In this study, the "Life Skills Scale" and the "Demographic Information Form" were used to collect data. In the analysis of the data, primarily descriptive statistics were used. Relationships between dependent variables and independent variables of the study were analysed using t-test, correlation and ANOVA techniques. Statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05. According to the findings, the stress coping skills of male students were found to be significantly higher than that of female students. On the other hand, a significant difference was found in favour of girls in critical thinking skills. In general, it was determined that the life skills of the students in the upper classes were higher than those in the lower classes.
