Eski Uygur Türkçesinde Kolu Adı ve Türevleri

Abstract

Türkçenin bünyesinde barındırdığı sınırlı malzemeyi kullanarak dış dünyadaki sınırsız varlığa ad bulma konusunda geliştirdiği yöntemlerden biri de başka dillerden sözcük ödünçlemektir. Türk dili, ödünç aldığı kimi sözcükleri kendi anlam ve yapı sistemine uydurma yoluna da gitmiştir. Bu tip sözcüklerden bir tanesi de Sanskritçe kökenli kolu adıdır. Kolu adı, Eski Uygur aydını tarafından dinî terminolojiyi tam anlamıyla okuyucuya aktarabilmek için ödünçlenmiş ancak ilerleyen zamanlarda bu ad hem çok anlamlı bir yapıya bürünmüş hem mecaz yoluyla anlatıma derinlik kazandırır olmuş hem de yapım ekleri getirilerek yeni sözcükler türetmekte kullanılmıştır. Bu durum, Türk dilinin daha o dönemindeki teknik kapasitesini ve alıntı sözcükleri yerlileştirme gücünü gözler önüne sermenin yanı sıra Eski Uygur Türkçesi verimlerinin kaynak eserlerden çeviri niteliği taşımadığını dönemin Türk yazarları tarafından Türk diline adapte edildiğini de anlatmaktadır. Yapılan bu çalışmada, kolu adı ve kolu adından türediği değerlendirilen kolula-, kolulug ve kolusuz sözcüklerini, Eski Türkçenin söz varlığından bol örnek tanıklamanın yol göstericiliğiyle yapısal ve anlamsal açıdan tüm yönleriyle irdeledik. Bu yolla yapı ve anlam dünyası konusunda belirsizlikler ve eksiklikler bulunan kolu adına ve kolu adından türemiş gövde biçimlere açıklık getirilmeye çalıştık.

One of the methods developed by Turkish to find a name for the unlimited existence in the outside world by using the limited material it contains is to borrow words from other languages. The Turkic language has adapted some borrowed words to its own meaning and structure system. One such words is the Sanskrit name kolu. The name kolu was borrowed by the Old Uyghur intellectual in order to convey the religious terminology to the reader. However, later on, this name both took on a very meaningful structure and added depth to the expression through metaphor, and was used to derive new words by adding constructive suffixes. This situation reveals the technical capacity of the Turkish language at that time and its power to localize borrowed words. This situation also explains that the Old Uyghur Turkish yields do not have a translation quality from the source works, but were adapted to the Turkish language by the Turkish writers of the period. In this study, we examined the name kolu and words kolula-, kolulug and kolusuz, which are thought to be derived from the name kolu, in all aspects, structurally and semantically, with the guidance of abundant examples from the vocabulary of Old Turkic. In this way, we tried to clarify the name kolu and derived forms from the name kolu, which have uncertainties and deficiencies in the world of structure and meaning.
