Farklı merhamet düzeyine sahip lise öğrencilerinde mutluluk ve empatinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırma farklı merhamet düzeyine sahip lise öğrencilerinde mutluluk ve empatinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. İstanbul ili Avrupa yakasındaki bir lisede öğrenim gören öğrenciler araştırmanın evrenini oluşturmaktadır. Bu öğrenciler arasından seçilen 600 kişi de örneklemi teşkil etmektedir. Araştırmadaki veriler bizzat araştırmacı tarafından örneklem grubundaki öğrencilere uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada KA-Sİ Empati Ölçeği, Merhamet Ölçeği ve Oxford Mutluluk Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmada toplanan veriler SPSS 22 programına aktarılmıştır. Kişisel bilgilere ait verilerin tanımlayıcı istatistikleri tablo haline getirilmiştir. Ölçek verilerinin normal dağılım gösterdiği saptanmıştır. Ölçek sorularının sosyo demografik değişkenlere göre farklılaşmasını araştırmak için hipotez testleri yapılmıştır. Hipotez testi olarak parametrik testlerden bağımsız örneklem t testi ve Anova testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, lise öğrencilerinin merhamet düzeyleri (düşük, orta, yüksek) ile mutluluk ve empatik eğilimleri farklılaşmaktadır. Merhamet düzeyi yükseldikçe, mutluluk ve empatik eğilimin de arttığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Lise öğrencilerinin mutluluk puan ortalamalarının; cinsiyete, kardeş sayısına, aile gelir düzeyine, göre farklılaştığı; yaşa, sınıfa, anne-baba tutumuna göre farklılaşmadığı belirlenmiştir. Lise öğrencilerinin empatik eğilim puan ortalamalarının; cinsiyete, sınıfa, aile gelir düzeyine, anne-baba tutumuna göre farklılaştığı; yaşa, kardeş sayısına göre farklılaşmadığı belirlenmiştir. Mutluluk, ve empati arasındaki ilişkiye yönelik korelasyon analiz yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda mutluluk ve empati arasında pozitif yönlü ilişki saptanmıştır.

This study was conducted to examine happiness and empathy in high school students with different compassion levels. Students studying at a high school on the European side of Istanbul are the universe of the research. 600 people selected among these students make up the sample. The data in the study were applied to the students in the sample group by the researcher himself. KA-SI empathy scale, compassion scale and Oxford happiness scale were used in the study. The data collected in this study were transferred to the SPSS 22 program. The descriptive statistics of the data belonging to personal information have been tabulated. It was determined that the scale data showed normal distribution. Hypothesis tests were conducted to investigate the differentiation of scale questions according to socio-demographic variables. Independent sample t test and ANOVA test were used as hypothesis tests. As a result of the research, the compassion levels (low, medium, high) of high school students and their happiness and empathic tendencies differ. It was concluded that the higher the level of compassion, the higher the happiness and empathic tendency. The happiness point average of high school students; It differs according to gender, number of siblings, family income level; It has been determined that it does not differ according to age, class, and parents' attitude. Empathic tendency average of high school students; differentiated according to gender, class, family income level, and parental attitude; It has been determined that it does not differ according to age and number of siblings. Correlation analysis was conducted for the relationship between happiness and empathy. As a result of the research, a positive relationship was found between happiness and empathy.
