Okul yöneticilerinin örgüt içi iletişime yönelik görüşlerinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, okul yöneticilerinin örgüt içi iletişime yönelik görüşlerinin belirlenmesidir. Bu araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgubilim (fenomenoloji) deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılında İstanbul ili Başakşehir ilçesindeki ortaokullarda görev yapmakta olan okul yöneticileridir. Çalışma grubu, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemine göre seçilmiş ve toplam 14 okul yöneticiyle görüşülmüştür. Görüşülen okul yöneticilerinin 8'i erkek 6'sı kadındır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma veri toplama araçlarından, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanmış ve uygulanmıştır. Görüşmelerde, okul yöneticilerinin diğer yöneticilerle, öğretmenlerle, öğrenci velileriyle ve öğrencilerle olan iletişimi incelenmiştir. Okul yöneticilerinden elde edilen verilerin analizinde, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. İçerik analizi gereği, ham veriler bilgisayar ortamına girildikten sonra kodlanmış, kategorize edilmiş ve son olarak temalar haline getirilmiştir. Elde edilen temalar yorumlanarak açıklanmıştır. Okul yöneticilerinden elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, okul yöneticilerinin örgüt içindeki iletişimde aktif rol oynadığı, diğerleri arasında köprü görevi gördüğü ve iletişimi şekillendirdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Okul yöneticilerinin diğer yöneticilerle samimi, anlayışlı, empatiyle ve ortak karar alarak, öğretmenlerle ise seviyeli, dengeli, saygı çerçevesinde ve eşit düzeyde iletişim kurduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Okul yöneticilerine göre, okuldaki iletişim problemlerinin sıklıkla empati yapmamak, bencillik ve saygısızlık yüzünden olduğu ve en çok öğretmen kaynaklı yaşandığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu problemlerin ise konuşarak, dinleyerek, belirli bir hiyerarşi izlenerek, önce olayı anlayıp sonra birebir görüşmeler yapılarak çözüldüğü yöneticiler tarafından bildirilmiştir. Ayrıca okul yöneticileri, öğrenci velileriyle iyi, sıkı, sürekli ve orta yollu, velilerin ise okul yöneticileri ile saygılı, ilgili ve destekleyici bir iletişim kurduğunu bildirmiştir. Son olarak okul yöneticilerinin öğrencilerle iyi bir iletişim kurduğu, onlarla sık sık vakit geçirdiği, öğrencilerin ise yöneticilerle rahat, samimi ve saygılı bir iletişim sağladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Sonuçlar cinsiyet değişkenine göre incelenmiş ve bazı farklılıklar olduğu ortaya konmuştur. Araştırmanın sonunda ise okul yöneticilerine, öğretmenlere ve araştırmacılara yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The aim of this study is to determine the views of school administrators' on organizational communication. In this study, phenomenological pattern was used from qualitative research models. The working group of the study is school administrators who work at secondary schools in Başakşehir district of İstanbul province in the 2020-2021 academic year. The working group was chosen according to the purposive sampling method and totally 14 school administrators were interviewed. 8 of the school administrators interviewed are male and 6 of them are female. In the study, semi-structured interview form which is one of the qualitative research data collection tools, was prepared and applied by the researcher. In the interviews, the communication of school administrators with other administrators, teachers, parents and students was investigated. Content analysis which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the analysis of the data obtained from school administrators. According to the content analysis, the raw data were encoded, categorized and finally turned into themes after were entered the computer system. The themes obtained have been interpreted and explained. According to the findings obtained from school administrators, it was concluded that school administrators play an active role in the organicational communication, act like a bridge between the others and form the communication. It was concluded that school administrators communicated with the other administrators in a sincere, understanding, empathetic and by taking joint decisions, and with the teachers at a level, balanced, respectful and equal level. According to school administrators, it has been concluded that communication problems at school are often due to lack of empathy, selfishness and disrespect, and mostly because of the teachers. It was reported by the managers that these problems were solved by talking, listening, following a certain hierarchy, firstly understanding the problem and then making one to one interviews. In addition, school administrators reported that they had good, strict, continuous and moderate communication with the parents, and the parents had a respectful, caring and supportive communication with the school administrators. Finally, it was concluded that school administrators had a good communication with students, spent time with them frequently and students had a comfortable, sincere and respectful communication with them. The results were analyzed according to the gender variable and it was revealed that there were some differences. At the end of the study, suggestions were given to school administrators, teachers and researchers.
