Sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının mesleki uygulama düzeylerinin belirlenmesi

Abstract

Çalışmanın amacı, sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının çalışma alanlarında bireyle (mikro), grupla (mezzo) ve toplumla (makro) sosyal hizmet uygulama düzeylerini incelemektir. Bu çalışma kesitsel ve tanımlayıcı tipte bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini 160 sosyal hizmet uzmanı oluşturmuştur. Veriler araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen görüşme formu aracılığıyla 01 Eylül- 31 Aralık 2019 tarihleri arasında online olarak toplanmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgularda; çalışmaya katılan sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının tamamına yakınının çalıştıkları birimlerde mikro düzeyde çalışmalar gerçekleştirdikleri, katılımcıların yarısının mezzo düzeyde uygulama deneyimlerinin olmadığı ve katılımcıların çoğunluğunun makro düzeyde uygulama yapmadıkları belirlenmiştir. Grup ve toplum çalışması yapılmamasının nedenleri arasında, çalışılan alanın grup ve toplum çalışmasına uygun olmadığı ve iş yoğunluğu nedeniyle grup çalışması yapılamadığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca grup ve toplum çalışması yapmak için kendini mesleki açıdan yetersiz bulan ve sosyal hizmet lisans eğitiminin yetersiz olması nedeniyle grup ve toplum çalışması yapamadığını belirten sosyal hizmet uzmanları bulunmaktadır. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda sosyal hizmet lisans eğitiminde grupla ve toplumla çalışma becerileri kazandırabilmesi yönünde sosyal hizmet müfredatını işlevsel hale getirebilecek çalışmaların yapılması ve konu ile ilgili daha kapsamlı veriler elde etmeye yönelik nitel çalışmaların yapılması önerilmektedir.

The aim of the study is to examine the levels of social work practice with the individual (micro), group (mezzo) and society (macro) in the work areas of social workers. This study is a cross-sectional and descriptive study. The sample of the study consisted of 160 social workers. The data were collected online between 01 September- 31 December 2019 via the interview form developed by the researchers. Findings obtained from the study; it was determined that almost all of the social workers who participated in the study performed studies at the micro level in the units where they worked, half of the participants did not have mezzo level application experiences and the majority of the participants did not work macro level. Among the reasons for not doing group and community work, it was determined that the work area was not suitable for group and society work and that group work could not be done due to work density. There are also social workers who find themselves inadequate to do group and society work and that they cannot do group and society work due to insufficient social work undergraduate education. In line with the results obtained in the study, it is recommended to it is recommended to carry out studies that can make the social work curriculum functional in order to gain the skills of working with groups and the community in social work undergraduate education, and to conduct qualitative studies to obtain more comprehensive data on the subject.
