This study aims to examine the effect of personal values on the career satisfaction of foundation employees. The research was conducted on a sample of 286 full-time employees selected via the convenience sampling method from three foundations operating in the fields of education, arts and culture, and humanitarian aid on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. The Schwartz Value Survey and the Career Satisfaction Scale were used as data collection instruments. For data analysis, statistical methods such as descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression were utilized to test the hypotheses. The results of the study indicated that foundation employees had the highest mean scores on altruistic values such as Benevolence and Universalism. However, these values were not found to be significant predictors of career satisfaction. The regression analysis revealed that the strongest positive and significant predictor of career satisfaction was "Stimulation" (the search for excitement and novelty), whereas the "Security" value (the search for stability and safety) negatively predicted career satisfaction. Furthermore, among the demographic variables compared, only income level was found to have a significant positive effect on career satisfaction. These findings suggest that career satisfaction in the non-profit sector is more complex than simply adopting an altruistic mission; the fit between an individual's expectations for excitement and stability and the dynamic, and at times uncertain, nature of the sector plays a critical role.
