Öğretmenlerin çocuk ihmal ve istismarı hakkındaki görüşleri

Abstract

Bilimsel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modeline göre gerçekleştirilen bu çalışma, çocukların ailesinden sonra birlikte en fazla zaman geçirdikleri öğretmenlerin çocuk istismarı ve ihmali hakkındaki görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmaktadır. Bu genel amaç doğrultusunda çeşitli alt amaçlar oluşturulmuştur. Öğretmenlerin çocuk ihmal ve istismarına yönelik farkındalık düzeyini değerlendirme anketinden aldıkları puanlar ile çocuk cinsel istismarını bildirmeye yönelik tutumları anketinden aldıkları puanlar öğretmenlerin cinsiyetine, yaşlarına, medeni durumlarına, hizmet sürelerine, ebeveyn olma durumlarına, çocuk istismarı ve ihmali konusunda önceden bilgilendirilmelerine, okuldaki görevlerine, çalıştıkları okul türüne, çalıştıkları kurum türüne, okullarındaki öğrencilerin sosyoekonomik durumuna göre analiz edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin çocuk cinsel istismarını bildirmeye yönelik tutumları anketinden aldıkları puanlar ile çocuk ihmal ve istismarına yönelik farkındalık düzeyini değerlendirme anketinden aldıkları puanlar arasında ilişki analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemi ise okul öncesi, ilkokul, ortaokul, ortaöğretim kurumlarında eğitim veren 561 öğretmenlerden oluşmaktadır. Sonuç olarak raporlanmanın sonucu hakkında endişelenme puanlarındaki değişimin %21’sinin çocuk ihmal ve istismarına yönelik farkındalık düzeyi, raporlama rolüne bağlılık ve raporlamaya sistemin etkili yanıt vereceğine güvenme puanları tarafından açıklanmaktadır.

This study, which was carried out according to the scanning model that is one of the scientific research methods, is carried out to determine the opinions of the teachers, with whom children spend the most time after their families, on child abuse and neglect. In line with this general purpose, various sub-objectives have been established. The scores they got from the questionnaire for assessing the level of awareness of teachers about child neglect and abuse, and the scores they got from the questionnaire on their attitudes towards reporting child sexual abuse were analyzed according to teachers' gender, age, marital status, length of service, being a parent, being informed about child abuse and neglect in advance, their duties at school, the school they work at, the type of institution, the type of institution they work, and the socioeconomic status of the students in their schools. In addition, the relationship between the scores they got from the questionnaire on teachers' attitudes towards reporting child sexual abuse and the scores they got from the questionnaire for assessing the level of awareness of child neglect and abuse were analyzed. The sample of the research consists of 561 teachers who give education in pre-school, primary school, secondary school, and high school. As a result, 21% of the variation in the scores of worrying about the outcome of reporting is explained by the level of awareness of child neglect and abuse, commitment to the reporting role, and confidence that the system will respond effectively to reporting.
