Ortopedik Engelli Çocukların ve Ebeveynlerinin Ailede İnanç Eğitimine İlişkin Görüşlerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı 11-15 yaş aralığındaki ortopedik engelli çocukla-rın ailede inanç eğitimlerinin mevcut durumlarını incelemektir. Bu sebeple mevcut durumun anlaşılmasına yönelik ortopedik engelli çocukların ebe-veynlerinin ailede inanç eğitimi verilmesi hususunda farkındalıklarının olup olmadığı, ortopedik engelli çocuklarına verdikleri inanç eğitimini yeterli bulup bulmadıkları, ailede verilen inanç eğitiminin çocukların engeliyle başa çıkmalarına yardımcı olup olmadığı, ailelerin ortopedik engelli çocuklarının inanç ile alakalı sorularına onları tatmin edecek şekilde cevap verip vere-medikleri, çocukların okulda aldıkları din eğitimlerinin inanç eğitimine kat-kısı hususundaki görüşlerini incelemeye yönelik sorular sorulmuştur. Araş-tırmada karma yöntem desenlerinden eş zamanlı/ paralel desen tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmanın nitel boyutunun çalışma grubunu İstanbul Avrupa Yakası’nda ikamet eden ortopedik engelli çocukların 30 ebeveyni oluşturur-ken nicel boyutunun çalışma grubu ise bu ebeveynlerin ortopedik engelli çocuklarıdır. Nitel verilerin veri toplama aracı yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu, nicel verilerin ise Likert Tipi ankettir. Nitel verilerin analizinde içerik analizi yöntemi, nicel verilerin analizinde ise Likert Tipi ankete göre verilen cevapların yüzde değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Son olarak çocuklardan ve ebe-veynlerden elde edilen bulgular karşılaştırılarak yorumlanmıştır. Ebeveynle-rin çocuklarına inanç eğitimi verme hususunda farkındalıkları olduğu, aile-de verilen inanç eğitiminin çocukların engeliyle başa çıkmalarına katkı sağ-ladığı, okulda aldıkları din eğitiminin ortopedik engelli çocukların inanç eği-timine olumlu katkısı olduğu konularında çocukların ve ebeveynlerin görüş-leri paraleldir ancak ebeveynler çocukların inanç temelli sorularına tatmin edici cevaplar veremediklerini düşünürken çocuklar ebeveynlerinden farklı olarak inanç temelli sorularına ebeveynlerinin onları tatmin edici cevaplar verdiklerini düşünmektedirler. Çeşitli kurum, dernek ve sivil toplum kuru-luşları tarafından özel gereksinimli çocukların ebeveynlerinin din eğitimine fayda sağlamaya yönelik çalışmalar yapılması ailelerin bu konudaki eksiklik-lerinin giderilmesinde faydalı olacağı önerilmiştir.

The aim of this research is to examine the current state of belief educa-tion within the families of orthopedically disabled children between aged 11-15. For this reason, questions were asked to understand the current situa-tion and to examine whether the parents of orthopedically disabled children are aware of the need for religious education in the family, whether they find the religious education they provide to their orthopedically disabled children sufficient, whether the religious education provided in the family helps their children cope with their disabilities, whether the families can answer the questions of their orthopedically disabled children about faith in a way that satisfies them, and their views on the contribution of the reli-gious education their children receive at school to religious education. In this research, simultaneous/parallel design was preferred among mixed method designs. While the study group of the qualitative aspect of the re-search consists of 30 parents of orthopedically disabled children residing in the European side of Istanbul, the study group of the quantitative aspect is the orthopedically disabled children of these parents. The data collection tool for qualitative data was semi-structured interview form, and for quanti-tative data, a Likert-type questionnaire was used. The content analysis method was used in the analysis of qualitative data, and for the quantitative data, the percentage values of the answers given according to the Likert-type questionnaire were calculated. Finally, the findings obtained from chil-dren and parents were compared and interpreted. The views of children and parents are parallel on the issues that parents are aware of providing religious education to their children, that religious education given in the family contributes to children coping with their disabilities, and that reli-gious education received at school contributes positively to the religious ed-ucation of orthopedically disabled children. However, while parents think that they cannot give satisfactory answers to children's faith-based ques-tions, children, unlike their parents, think that their parents give them satis-factory answers to their faith-based questions. It has been suggested that studies conducted by various institutions, associations and civil society or-ganizations to benefit the religious education of parents of children with special needs will be beneficial in eliminating the deficiencies of families in this regard.
