Öğretmenlik mesleğindeki itibar kaybı nedenleri üzerine bir inceleme

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı öğretmenlik mesleğindeki itibar kaybı nedenlerini toplum,okul ve basın-yayın organları değişkenleri üzerinden incelemektir.Araştırma nitel araştırma modellerinden görüşme formu ile gerçekleştirilmiştir.. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılı güz dönemindeki 73 öğretmenden oluşmaktadır. Veriler,öğretmenlerden elden,elektronik posta ve ses kaydı yoluyla toplanmıştır. Katılımcılara öğretmenlik mesleğinin toplumdaki, okuldaki ve basın-yayın organlarındaki itibarına yönelik fikirlerini saptamak amacıyla açık uçlu 4 soru sorulmuştur.Veriler, içerik analizi ile incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda katılımcı öğretmenlerin öğretmenlik mesleğinin itibarına yönelik görüşlerine göre öğretmenlik mesleğinde itibar kaybı olduğu belirlenmiştir. Arapça kökenli olan itibar sözcüğü saygı görme,prestij anlamlarına gelmektedir.Her birey itibar görmek ister.İtibarı hayatın her alanına yayan birey itibarı edindiği meslek ile de edinir.Kişi seçeceği meslekte iyi bir konumda olmak, maddi ve manevi kazanç elde etmek ister ;bu nedenledir ki seçeceği mesleğin toplumdaki itibarını önemser. Doktorluk,hakimlik,avukatlık,polislik gibi topluma hizmet etmeyi amaçlayan meslek grupları toplum tarafından saygı görürler. Öğretmenlik de toplumsal faydayı amaçlayan bir meslek grubudur,yıllar boyu toplum tarafından saygı görmüştür.Ancak toplanılan veriler ışığında öğretmenlik mesleğinin toplum,okul ve öğretmenler nezdinde bir itibar kaybı olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

This study aimed at investigating the reasons of teaching profession’s loss of reputation in terms of society,school and media organs variables.This study was designed by interview form that is one of the qualitative models.The participants of the study were composed of 73 teachers in 2018-2019 first term of academic year.The data were collected using by hand,e-mail and voice recording.In order to determine the ideas about reputation of teaching profession in society,school and media organs were asked 4 open-ended questions to the participants.The data were examined with content analysis.In this context,it was determined that there is a loss of teaching profession according to participant teacher’s views relevant to teaching professions’ reputation. Reputation, its origin is Arabic,means prestige or be respected.Each person wants to be respected.The person who spreads the reputation through every field of life,is respected thanks to the profession also.The person wants to be good in his/her profession and get income both materially and morally,that’s why s/he cares about reputation of profession will be chosen in the future.The professions that aims at serving the society like medicine,magistracy,advocacy,policing are respected by society. Teaching is also a profession aims at serving the society,it has been respected for years.However,in the light of collected data,it is come through that there is a loss of reputation in teaching profession in terms of society, school and teachers.
