Çalışan Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Deneyimleri: Niteliksel Bir Çalışma

Abstract

Bu araştırma, çalışan üniversite öğrencilerin çalışma deneyimini ele almaktadır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olan fenomenolojik yaklaşım tercih edilmiş ve veri toplama aracı olarak “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” ve “Yarı Yapılandırılmış Görüşme Formu” kullanılmıştır. Görüşme formu çalışmaya iten nedenlere, eğitim ve çalışma yaşamının birlikteliğine ve gelecek beklentilerine odaklanmaktadır. Araştırma sürecinde çalışmakta olan 22 üniversite öğrencisi ile görüşme sağlanmıştır. Görüşmeler sonucunda elde edilen veriler Word programı ile yazıya aktarılmış ve betimsel analiz yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma nedeni, eğitim ve çalışma yaşamının bir aradalığı, elde edilen gelir, gelecek, avantajlar ve dezavantajlar olmak üzere beş ana tema oluşturulmuştur. Öğrencilere göre öğrencileri çalışmaya iten en önemli nedenlerden biri ekonomik kaygılardır. Öğrencilerin birçoğu çalışmanın iyilik halini geliştirdiğine inanmaktadır. Öğrenciler tarafından çalışma yaşamının sosyal yaşama katılımı kısıtladığı, zaman yönetimi gibi konularda bir stresör olarak rol oynadığı belirtilmesine rağmen çalışma yaşamına erken dahil olmanın gelecek için güçlendirici bir işlevi olacağı vurgulanmaktadır.

This research deals with the working experience of working university students. A phenomenological approach, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was preferred in the study and "Personal Information Form" and "Semi-structured Interview Form" were used as data collection tools. The interview form focuses on the reasons for working, the combination of education and working life, and future expectations. During the research process, 22 university students who were working were interviewed. The data obtained as a result of the interviews were transferred to the word program and analyzed by descriptive analysis method. Five main themes were formed: the reason for working, the combination of education and work, income, future, advantages and disadvantages. One of the most important reasons pushing students to work is economic concerns. Most of the students believe that working improves well-being. Although it is stated that working life restricts participation in social life and plays a role as a stressor in issues such as time management, it is emphasized that early involvement in working life will have an empowering function for the future.
