Cumhuriyet Kavramına İlişkin İlkokul Öğrencilerinin Metaforik Algıları

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı ilkokul öğrencilerinin Cumhuriyet kavramına yönelik metaforik algılarını saptamaktır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2023-2024 eğitim-öğretim yılının birinci döneminde Bolu ili merkez ilçe sınırları içerisindeki bir ilkokulda öğrenim gören 2.sınıf, 3.sınıf ve 4.sınıftan toplam 486 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Öğrencilerin Cumhuriyet kavramına yükledikleri metaforik anlamların ortaya çıkartılıp incelenmesini amaçlayan bu çalışmada, olgubilim (fenomenoloji) deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerini toplamak için yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin algılarına dayalı olarak Cumhuriyet kavramına ilişkin tüm sınıflarda ortak 48 metafor, bireysel 176 metafor olmak üzere toplam 224 adet metafor üretilmiştir. Öğrenciler tarafından üretilen en çok beş metafor incelendiğinde sırasıyla; Özgürlük, Bayram, Güneş, Atatürk ve Bayrak olduğu görülmektedir. Öğrenciler tarafından üretilen 224 adet metafor araştırmacılar tarafından 9 kategori altında toplanmıştır. Bu kategoriler; Bağımsızlık, Değer, Güç, Güven, İlerleme, Öncü, Şenlik, Yönetim Şekli ve Zafer’dir. Araştırmanın sonuçları incelendiğinde tüm sınıf düzeylerindeki öğrencilerin Cumhuriyet kavramına ilişkin olumlu bir algıya sahip oldukları görülmüştür.

The aim of this research is to determine primary school students' metaphorical perceptions of the concept of Republic. The study group of the research consists of a total of 486 2nd grade, 3rd grade and 4th grade students studying in a primary school within the borders of the Central district of Bolu province in the first semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. In this study, which aims to reveal and examine the metaphorical meanings that students attribute to the concept of Republic, the phenomenology pattern was used. A semi-structured interview form was used to collect research data. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. Based on the students' perceptions, a total of 224 metaphors were produced regarding the concept of Republic, including 48 common metaphors in all classes and 176 individual metaphors. When the five metaphors produced by the students are examined, respectively; It can be seen that there are Freedom, Holiday, Sun, Ataturk and Flag. 224 metaphors produced by students were collected under 9 categories by the researchers. These categories; Independence, Value, Power, Confidence, Progress, Pioneer, Conviviality, Form of Government and Victory. When the results of the research were examined in general, it was seen that students at all grade levels had a positive perception of the concept of Republic.
