Meslek lisesi öğrencilerinin meslek derslerine yönelik metaforik algılarının incelenmesi

Abstract

Metafor bir kavramın anlatılmasında benzer özelliklerinden dolayı başka kavramların kullanılmasıdır. Günümüzde eğitsel çalışmalar içerisinde metafor tekniği önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Okulöncesi, ilk öğretim, ortaöğretim ve üniversitelerde eğitim konulu çalışmalarda metafor tekniğiyle birçok çalışma yapılmıştır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, meslek liselerinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin meslek derslerine ilişkin algılarını metafor aracılığıyla tespit etmektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2018-2019 öğretim yılında 1. dönem İstanbul ili Başakşehir ilçesinde bulunan Meslek liselerinin 11. ve 12. sınıflarında öğrenim gören 329 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada olgubilim deseni kullanılmış ve öğrencilerin “Meslek dersleri ………… benzer; çünkü ………” cümlesini tamamlamaları istenmiştir. Verilerin analizinde içerik analizi kullanılmış olup araştırma bulguları öğrencilerin 15 kategori altında 195 metafor (çoğunluğu tarafından üretilen ilk beş metafor; kitap, hayat, ağaç, çatı ve su metaforlarının olduğu) ürettikleri görülmüştür.

A Metaphor is the use of concepts in describing another concept due to their shared or similar characteristics. Today, the metaphor technique has an important place in educational studies. Many studies have been conducted on the metaphor technique’s use at preschool, primary, secondary education levels, as well as universities. The aim of this study is to determine the perceptions of vocational high school students on vocational courses through the use of metaphors. The study group of the study consisted of 328 2018-2019 academic year 11th and 12th grade students of vocational high schools in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul. A phenomenology pattern was used in the research, where students were asked to complete the following sentence; “Vocational courses are……… similar, because…………”. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the data. The research findings revealed that the students produced 194 metaphors under 15 categories, where the first five metaphors produced by the majority where books, life, trees, roofs and water.
