Ahalisiz mahalleler: Türkiye metropolünde nüfus hareketliliği ve kolektif hafıza

Abstract

Bu metinde Türkiye metropollerindeki nüfus hareketliliğinin mahallelerin nüfus sirkülasyonu ve ahalinin kent mekânına ilişkin algısı üzerindeki etkisine ilişkin bir tartışma sunulacaktır. Metnin savı şudur: Mahalleyi bir temsil mekânı olarak üretme tekeli mahallelerarası nüfus hareketliliğinden etkilenmeyen kesimlerdedir. Bu kesimler temsil mekânının üretimi üzerindeki etkileri vasıtasıyla mahalleye ilişkin baskın imgeyi resmederek hem diğer mahalle sakinlerinin gündelik yaşam pratiklerini hem de Türkiye’de mahalle mefhumuna ilişkin kamusal kanıyı şekillendirmektedir.

This article entails a discussion concerning the impact of the population mobility in the metropolitan areas of Turkey on the spatial circulation of the population and the conception of the city dwellers about the urban space. The argument of this article is as follows: the monopoly over the production of the neighborhood as a representational space belongs to the groups that are exempt from the inter-neighborhood residential mobility. Insofar as these groups envisage the dominant image of the neighborhood thanks to their capacity to produce this representational space, they frame both the everyday life practices of other inhabitants of their neighborhood and the public perception about the notion of neighborhood in Turkey.
