Empati eğitim programının empatik eğilim düzeyi üzerindeki etkisinin incelenmesi: sağlık meslek lisesi örneği

Abstract

Empati sosyal ilişkilerin özellikle de yardım davranışlarının itici bir gücü olarak kabul edilebilir. Bu çalışma, empati eğitim programının empatik eğilim düzeyi düşük olan gençlerin empatik eğilimlerini geliştirici bir etkisinin olup olmadığının incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada deney ve kontrol grubu olan, ön test ve son test uygulaması yapılan deneysel bir dizayn kullanılmıştır. Dökmen (1988) tarafından geliştirilen Empatik Eğilim Ölçeği (EEÖ) kullanılarak empatik eğilim düzeyi düşük 32 öğrenci belirlenmiştir. Öğrenciler gönüllülük esasına göre deney ve kontrol grubu olarak ikiye ayrılmıştır. Deney grubundaki öğrencilerle 10 oturumluk empati eğitim programı çalışması yapılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, deney grubundaki öğrencilerin ön test ve son test puanlarında önemli düzeyde bir artış gözlenirken kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerin ön test ve son test puanları arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır. Dolayısıyla uygulanan grup çalışmasının öğrencilerin empatik eğilimlerinin artışı üzerinde etkili olduğu görülmüştür.

Empathy can be regarded as a driving force of social relations, especially of helping behaviors. This study was conducted to examine whether the empathy training program is an effect that enhances the empathic tendencies of youth with low empathic tendencies. In the study, it was used an experimental design with being experimental group and control group and applying pretest and posttest. 32 students with low empathic tendency were identified using the Empathic Tendency Scale (EEQ) developed by Dökmen (1988). The students are divided into two groups as experimental and control groups on the basis of volunteerism. There has been conducted 10 sessions of the empathy training program study with students in experimental group. According to the findings obtained, there was a significant increase in the pretest and posttest scores of the students in the experimental group, but there was no significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of students in the control group. Therefore, it was seen that the applied group study had an effect in the increase of the empathic tendencies of the students
