Şair Kimliğiyle Ercüment Ekrem Talu

Abstract

Ercüment Ekrem Talu, nüktedan üslubuyla mizah yazarı olarak şöhret kazanmış, Türk edebiyatının üretken yazarlarından biridir. II. Meşrutiyet yıllarından 1950’lere uzanan yazarlık hayatı müddetince devrinin gazetelerinde, dergilerinde çok sayıda hikâye, roman, fıkra ve hatıraya imza atmıştır. Bilhassa mizah çeşnisi katarak toplumsal sorunlara eleştirel bir yaklaşım sergilediği romanları ile doğrudan doğruya mizah amacıyla yazdığı Evliyâ-yı Cedid ve Meşhedî serisi, ona popüler bir yazar hüviyeti kazandırmıştır. Daha çok nesir alanında eser veren, dolayısıyla nesirleriyle tanınan Ercüment Ekrem, aynı zamanda bir şairdir. Çalışma kapsamında, onun yazılarını kaleme aldığı süreli yayınlar taranmış, kendi adıyla ve müstear isimlerle yayımladığı şiirler tespit edilmiştir. Mütareke yıllarında Damat Ferid Paşa kabinesine ve Millî Mücadele karşıtı Ali Kemal’e yönelik hicivleriyle adından söz ettiren Ercüment Ekrem, Cumhuriyet’ten sonra mizah şiirleriyle karşımıza çıkmıştır. Bu dönemde, güncel hadiselere dair eleştirel içeriklilerden, kadın-erkek ilişkilerine, zevk ve sefa âlemlerinden bir ömrün muhasebesine kadar uzanan oldukça geniş bir muhtevada şiirler yazmıştır. Aynı zamanda, yazarlık hayatının ilk yıllarından itibaren tabiat ve aşk temalarını işlediği, sanatkârane bir üslupla kaleme aldığı şiirleri mevcuttur. Çalışma ile Ercüment Ekrem’in süreli yayın sayfalarında kalan şiirleri ortaya çıkartıldığı gibi nesirde olduğu kadar nazımda da kıvrak bir kaleme sahip olduğu anlaşılmıştır.

Ercument Ekrem Talu is one of the prolific writers of Turkish literature who gained his reputation as a humorist for his humorous style. Throughout his writing career, from the Second Constitutionalist Era to the 1950s, he published a number of stories, novels, jokes and memories in newspapers and magazines of his time. Especially his novels, in which he took a critical approach to social problems by adding humorous tone, and the Evliya-yi Cedid and Meshedi series, which he wrote directly for humor, gained him in popularity. Despite writing mostly prose and therefore being recognized with his works of prose, Ercument Ekrem is a poet at the same time. Within the scope of the study, the periodicals in which his articles were published were scanned and the poems he published in his own name and his pseudonyms were ascertained. During the period of the armistice, Ercument Ekrem made a name for himself with his satires against Damat Ferid Pasha's cabinet and Ali Kemal, who was against the War of Independence. After the establishment of the Turkish Republic, Ercument Ekrem appeared with his humor poems. In this period, he wrote poems on a wide range of topics from critical content about current affairs to women-men relationships, from the primrose path to the review of a lifetime. At the same time, since the early years of his writing career, he had written poems on the themes of nature and love with an artistic style. With this study Ercument Ekrem's poems in the periodical pages were uncovered and also it is understood that he has an agile style in poetry as well as prose.
