Future outlook

Abstract

The future of the Balkan diet and its nutritional and health aspects look bright and ready to face new challenges. The success rate will depend on the region future activities orientation in response to the needs of the European Union, the world, and the Balkans itself. This chapter outlines the current situation and discusses the need for strengthening nutrition action in the region to create better outcome for the present and future generations and in line with the Balkan diet. This chapter also aims to provide an outlook on the future of the nutritional, health, quality, and safety aspects of the traditional foods in the Balkans to harmonize them with international food regulations.
