Suriyeli öğretmen ve veli görüşlerine göre geçici eğitim merkezlerinin değerlendirilmesi: Nitel bir araştırma

Abstract

Bu nitel araştırmanın amacı, Kocaeli ilinde bulunan Geçici Eğitim Merkezlerinin eğitim-öğretim programının, fiziksel koşullarının ve öğretim ve yönetim kadrosunun öğretmen ve veli perspektifinden değerlendirilmesidir. Araştırmanın katılımcıları Kocaeli ilinde bulunan Geçici Eğitim Merkezlerinde görev yapan Suriyeli mülteci 13 öğretmen ve çocukları bu merkezlerde eğitim alan 15 Suriyeli mülteci velidir. Araştırmanın verileri araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan yarı-yapılandırılmış mülakat formuna göre öğretmen ve velilerle görüşme yapılarak toplanmıştır. Görüşmelerden elde edilen nitel veriler betimsel analiz yöntemi ile NVIVO programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bulgulara göre öğretmen ve veliler bu merkezlerdeki eğitim programını güncel bulmaktadır. Fiziksel, donanımsal ve sosyal etkinlikler açısından yetersizlikler olduğu ifade edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak bu merkezlerdeki eğitimin kalitesi öğretmen ve veliler tarafından yeterli bulunmuştur. Sonuçlar tartışılmış ve buna göre öneriler sunulmuştur.

The aim of this qualitative research is to evaluate the curriculum, physical conditions and the teaching and management staff of the Temporary Education Centers in, Kocaeli, from the perspective of teachers and parents. The participants of the study were 13 Syrian refugee teachers who work in the temporary education centers in Kocaeli district and 15 parents whose children are enrolled in these centers. The data of the research consisted of teacher and parent interviews conducted according to the semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher. Qualitative data obtained from interviews were analyzed by NVIVO program with descriptive analysis method. According to the findings, teachers and parents find the curriculum program of these centers up to date and sufficient to the needs of the students. There are some deficiencies in terms of physical space, teaching and learning technologies and social facilities and activities. As a result, the quality of education in these centers was found sufficient by teachers and parents. The results were discussed and recommendations were presented accordingly.
