Musa Kazım Efendi'nin "Hükema-yı Cihan ve Ta'lim Terbiye" eseri ve arşiv belgeleri ışığında yetimhanelerdeki çocukların terbiye usulleri: Darulhayr-ı Âli örneği (1903-1909)

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, 1903'te kurulmuş Darulhayr-ı Ali'deki yetim çocukların terbiyesinde uygulanan usullere dair Osmanlı Arşivi kaynaklarındaki bilgilerin, bu çocukların talim ve terbiyesine katkı ve etkilerinin, Musa Kazım Efendi'nin eserlerindeki pedagoji ve tarih perspektifinden değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Musa Kazım Efendi'nin 'Hükema-yı Cihan Ve Ta'lim Terbiye' isimli eseri incelenmiş olup bu eserde talim terbiye veyahut pedagoji olarak bahsettiği ilme dair ilkçağdan başlayarak devlet yapılanmalarının eğitim sistemlerine ve bu ilimle ilgilendiğini belirttiği bazı fikir adamlarının düşüncelerine yönelik çıkarımları aktarılmıştır. 1911'de İstanbul'da basılan bu eserin yazılma amacının sadece talim terbiye ilmine yönelik bilgi vermek değil, Osmanlı halkını felsefe ilmine alıştırmak olduğu eserde dile getirilmiştir. Musa Kazım Efendi'nin eserdeki eğitim anlayışı ve görüşleri, Darulhayr-ı Ali kurumu içerisindeki eğitim anlayışına yönelik örneklerle ilişkilendirildiğinde modern anlayıştan ziyade kurumda geleneksel Türk-İslam eğitim anlayışının yön verici ve hakim konumda olduğu görülmüştür. Cezalandırma sisteminin kurum içinde kabul görmediği, yetim çocukların psiko-sosyal sağlıkları için çalışmalarda bulunulduğu, kurum içi uygulamaların çocukların eksik yönlerini tamamlamaya yönelik olduğu ve Osmanlı'nın eğitim anlayışının kendi içinde bir alt kültür oluşturduğu ifade edilmiştir.

In this study, from the perspective of pedagogy and history in Musa Kazım Efendi's works, it is aimed to evaluate some of the practices that were applied to the children staying in Darulhayr-ı Ali, which was established in 1903, and to evaluate their contribution and effects on their education and upbringing. Musa Kazım's work titled 'Hükema-yı Cihan Ve Ta'lim Terbiye' has been analyzed and his inferences on the education systems of state structures starting from the ancient times regarding the science he mentioned as education or pedagogy and his inferences about the thoughts of some intellectuals who were interested in this science have been conveyed. He stated that the purpose of writing this work, which he published in Istanbul in 1911, was not only to provide information on the science of education and training, but also to familiarize the Ottoman people with the science of philosophy. When Musa Kazım Efendi's understanding of education and his views in the work are associated with examples of the understanding of education within the Darulhayr-ı Ali institution, it is seen that the traditional Turkish-Islamic understanding of education is in a guiding and dominant position in the institution rather than the modern understanding. It was stated that the punishment system was not accepted within the institution, that efforts were made for the psycho-social health of orphaned children, that the practices within the institution were aimed at completing the deficiencies of the children and that the Ottoman understanding of education formed a subculture in itself.
