Câhiliye Devri Arap Şiirinde Hac Ritüeli İzleri

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın konusu Câhiliye devri Arap şiirinde hac ritüeli uygulamalarının izleridir. Problemi ise Câhiliye devri Arap şiirinde ulaşılabilen beyitler çerçevesinde dönemin Arap toplumundaki hac uygulamasının sorgulanmasıdır. Çalışma konusu beyitler, Câhiliye devri Arap toplumunda hac yolculuğunu, sosyal etkinliklerini, ritüellerini ve geleneklerini yakından tanımak bakımından önem arz etmektedir. Her ne kadar Câhiliye devri Arap toplumunda hac olgusuyla ilgili bazı çalışmalar yapılmış olsa da söz konusu çalışmaların tabiatı gereği dönemin hac olgusu farklı zaviyelerden incelenmiştir. Çalışmamızı ayrıcalıklı kılan husus, döneme ait ulaşılabilen şiirlerden hareketle hac ibadetinin ziyaret güzergâhları, güzergâhlardaki panayırlarda düzenlenen sosyal etkinlikler, hac yolculuğu, Beytullah’ın güvenli yer olması, hac ibadeti sırasında günahlardan sakınma, Beytullah’ı çıplak tavaf etme, anıt mezarlar gibi kutsal sayılan yerleri özel giysilerle tavaf etme ve Arafat’ta düzeni sağlama türünden beyitlere yansıtılan bilgi kırıntıları ve ince detaylardır. Konunun sağlıklı anlaşılmasını sağlamak amacıyla öncelikle hac kavramı, İslâm öncesi eski devirlerde hac ibadeti ve Câhiliye devrinde hac ibadeti hakkında özet bilgiler verilmiştir. Çalışmada nitel yöntem tekniklerinden doküman incelemesi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada sona gelindiğinde varılan tespitler Sonuç bölümünde toparlanmıştır.

The subject of this study is the signs of pilgrimage ritual practices in Jāhiliyyah-era Arab poetry. The main research problem is the examination of pilgrimage practices in the Arab society of the time based on the couplets available from Jāhiliyyah-era poetry. The couplets analyzed in this study are significant in terms of providing insight into the pilgrimage journey, social activities, rituals, and traditions of the Jāhiliyyah-era Arab society. Although some studies have been conducted on the phenomenon of pilgrimage in the pre-Islamic Arab context, due to their nature, these studies have explored the subject from various perspectives. What distinguishes this study is its focus on the subtle details and fragmented information reflected in the poetry of the period regarding the pilgrimage routes, the social activities organized at the fairs along these routes, the pilgrimage journey itself, the sanctity and security of the al-Ka‘bah, avoidance of sins during pilgrimage, the practice of circumambulating the al-Ka‘bah naked, circumambulating other sacred places such as tombs and shrines in special garments, and maintaining order in ʿArafāt. To ensure a sound understanding of the subject, the concepts of pilgrimage, pilgrimage practices in ancient pre-Islamic times, and pilgrimage in the Jāhiliyyah period are first summarized. The study employs qualitative research methods, particularly document analysis. The observations and conclusions reached at the end of the study are presented in the Conclusion section.
