Sağlıkla ilgili bölümleri olan özel liselerin mevcut sorunlarına yönelik öğrenci ve öğretmen görüşleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, Türkiye'de sağlıkla ilgili bölümleri olan Özel Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Liselerindeki mevcut sorunların belirlenmesi amacıyla, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı İstanbul İli Avcılar İlçesindeki okullarla çalışılmıştır. Araştırma betimsel bir çalışma olup, nitel veri toplama aracından faydalanılmış ve görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Meslek dersi öğretmenlerine ve öğrencilere yönelik iki ayrı form hazırlanmıştır. Formların birinci bölümünde formu dolduran kişiye ait kişisel bilgilere yönelik sorular, ikinci bölümünde ise araştırmanın amacına yönelik yarı yapılandırılmış sorular bulunmaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı İstanbul İli Avcılar İlçesindeki sağlıkla ilgili bölümleri olan üç Özel Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesindeki 11. ve 12. sınıf hemşirelik, acil tıp teknisyenliği ve diğer (anestezi) bölümlerinden 80 öğrenci ve bu okullardaki sekiz meslek dersi öğretmeninden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmaya göre; sağlıkla ilgili bölümleri olan Özel Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Liselerine meslek dersi öğretmenleri açısından bakıldığında; öğrenci potansiyeli açısından büyük çoğunlukla bilişsel başarı seviyesi ve sosyo-ekonomik seviyesi düşük öğrencilerden oluştuğu, beceri ve staj eğitimlerinin yeterliliği ve öğrencilerin nitelikli iş gücü oluşturabilme potansiyelleri açısından okulların yetersiz kaldığı, mevcut sağlık piyasasının ise sayısı gün geçtikçe artan bu özel liselere yetersiz kaldığı ya da kalacağı, bu liselerin önündeki mevzuat ve politikaların yetersiz kaldığı ve tüm bu durumların bu okulları ve sağlık sektörünü olumsuz etkileyebileceği sonuçları bulunmuştur. Öğrenciler açısından bakıldığında; öğrencilerin çoğunlukla ailelerinin istek ya da baskısıyla bu okullara geldiği, okullarda aldıkları eğitimin iş ve akademik başarılarına fayda sağlayacağına inandıkları, bilhassa yaptıkları stajların kendilerine katkı sağlayacağı, sağlık sektöründe yer alabileceklerine inandıkları, özel lisenin devlet lisesine kıyası konusunda belirgin bir farkın olmadığı, ayrıca öğrencilerin tespit ettiği sorunlar konusunda ise, staja gidebilmek için okula ödedikleri yıllık miktar haricinde para ödemek zorunda oldukları ve okullarındaki uygulama derslerinin ve derler için kullandıkları materyallerin yetersiz ya da eksik olduğu sonuçları bulunmuştur.

In this research, investigation work was done on schools related to the ministry of education, in the district of Avcılar in Istanbul, in order to determine the problems of private Anatolian Health Technician schools. The research is descriptive study in which qualitative research method was used, hence used interview forms. Two separate forms were prepared, one targeting students, and the other teachers. In the first section of the form, there were questions asking for personal information relating to the participants. In the second section, there were partially structured questions relating to the aim of the study. The sample for the study ise comprised of 80 students who are 11th and 12th grade nursing, emergency medical technician and other (anesthesia) department students, and eight teachers, from three private trade schools tied to the Ministry of Education, all located in Istanbul, Avcılar district. According to research, private Anatolian Health Technician trade schools (according the teachers) are comprised largely of students with low cognitive success levels and low socioeconomic levels. The schools are deemed insufficient with regards successful internships or in terms of preparing students professionally. Therefore the schools are unable to help the students fulfil their potentials. The existing market for health workers does not meet the expectations for employment of these private schools and will not in the near future. The policies and regulations related to these schools are sadly lacking. All these issues can lead to possible negative outcomes in the schools and the health sector. If we are to take a look at the students viewpoint, they usually attend these schools because of pressure or requests from their families. Though they do believe that their education at these schools will help them academically and also enable employment, they also agree that these schools are not very different to public schools in that they offer internships that may lead to higher rates of employment. The student do however, need to pay for the internships, and this fee is billed separately and is not included in the tuition fee.
