Okul Öncesi Eğitimde Okul Dışı Öğrenme Ortamlarına Yönelik Ebeveyn Görüşleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı okul öncesi eğitim sürecinde okul dışı öğrenme ortamlarının kullanılmasına yönelik ebeveyn görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Olgubilim desenine uygunluk gösteren bu araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 9 anne ve 2 baba olmak üzere toplam 11 ebeveyn oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın amacı kapsamında hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile elde edilen veriler betimsel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada edinilen bulgulara göre; okul öncesi eğitim sürecinde çocukların okul dışı öğrenme ortamlarında deneyim sıklıklarının yetersiz olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte ebeveynlerin okul öncesi eğitim sürecinde okul dışı öğrenme ortamlarının etkili olduğunu ve sıklıkla kullanılması gerektiğini düşündükleri belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca ebeveynler tarafından okul dışı öğrenme ortamlarının avantajı olarak yaşam becerilerine yönelik, bilişsel becerilere yönelik, sosyal becerilere yönelik ve duyuşsal becerilere yönelik avantajların belirtildiği; dezavantaj olarak ise güvenliğe yönelik, kazanımlara yönelik, ekonomik açıdan ve sosyal yönden dezavantajların belirtildiği tespit edilmiştir. Ebeveynlerin okul öncesi eğitimde okul dışı öğrenme ortamlarının yeterli sıklıkta kullanılmamasının nedenlerine ilişkin en fazla okuldan kaynaklı nedenler ve ekonomik nedenleri bildirdiği tespit edilmiştir. Okul öncesi eğitim sürecinde okul dışı öğrenme ortamlarının sıklaştırılmasına yönelik ebeveynlerin önerileri incelendiğinde, çok büyük oranda ebeveynlerin bilinçlendirilmesine ve sürece dahil edilmesine yönelik öneri sunulduğu belirlenmiştir.

The purpose of this study is to examine parents’ views on the use of out-of-school learning environments in pre-school education process. The study group of this study, which corresponds with the phenomenological design, consists of 11 parents, 9 mothers and 2 fathers. The data collected with the semistructured interview form prepared within the scope of the purpose of the study was analyzed descriptively. In the research; although parents think that out-of-school learning environments are effective and should be used frequently during pre-school education process, it has been determined that children’s experience in out-ofschool learning environments is insufficient. In addition, it was determined that advantages for life skills, cognitive skills, social skills and affective skills and on the other hand the disadvantages for security, outcomes, economic and social aspects were indicated by parents as the advantages of out-of-school learning environments. It was detected that parents reported school-related and economic reasons the most as the reasons for not using out-of-school learning environments frequently enough in pre-school education. When the suggestions of parents to increase the frequency of out-of-school learning environments in pre-school education process were examined, it was found that suggestions for raising the awareness of parents and including them in the process were made substantially.
