Sağlıklı yaşlanma ile psikopatoloji ilişkisinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada sağlıklı yaşlanma ile psikopatoloji ilişkisi incelenerek sosyal hizmetlerin yaşlı refahına katkısı araştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın temeli, sağlıklı yaşlanmanın ruh sağlığına pozitif katkı yaptığı savına dayanmaktadır. Araştırma, "Sağlıklı yaşlanma yaşlılarda psikopatolojiyi anlamlı düzeyde yordamakta mıdır?" temel probleminden hareketle yaşlıların sağlıklı yaşam biçimleri ve sorunlarla mücadele etme biçimlerinin başarılı yaşlanmaya katkısı, başarılı yaşlanmanın da yaşlı psikopatoloji düzeyine etkisinin ne olduğu üzerinedir. Çalışmada, ekolojik yaklaşımın çevresi içinde birey düşüncesi merkeze alınmıştır. Bu düşünce, insanı öteki ile anlam bulan bir varlık olarak tanımlar ve insanın hem kendi içsel boyutuna hem de onun çevre ile olan ilişkisine vurgu yapmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında yapılan araştırmalar ile sağlıklı yaşlanmanın, psikopatolojinin, sosyal hizmetin güncel tanımları ve bileşenleri çalışılmış, akabinde uygulama örnekleri ortaya konularak sosyal hizmetin İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Darülaceze örneğinde yaşlı refahına olan etkileri analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın evreni, İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Darülaceze Müdürlüğü bünyesinde yaşayan ve müdürlüğe bağlı yaşamevlerinde ikamet eden yaşlılardan oluşmaktadır. Örneklemi ise sağlıklı yüzyüze ölçek uygulamaya elverişli olan ve çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 173 bireyden oluşmaktadır. Nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden olan İlişkisel Tarama Modeli kapsamında çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 173 bireye önce Kişisel Bilgi Formu ardından Başarılı Yaşlanma Ölçeği ve Kısa Semptom Envanteri uygulanarak veriler elde edilmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler SPSS v.21 programı ile istatistiksel analize tabi tutulmuştur. İstatiksel veriler literatür kapsamında tartışılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda başarılı yaşlanmanın psikopatoloji düzeyini olumlu yordayacağı hipotezini destekleyen sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Sağlıklı yaşlanma belirtileri olarak bireylerin güvende hissettikleri, sosyal olarak da aktif katılım sağlayabilecekleri bir çevreye sahip olmalarının sağlıklı yaşlanma için önemli olduğu görülmüştür.

In this study, the relationship between healthy aging and psychopathology was examined. At the same time, the contribution of social services to elderly welfare was investigated. The main assumption of the research is that healthy aging, contributes positively to mental health. Research, "Does healthy aging significantly predict psychopathology in the elderly?" Based on this main hypothesis, the contribution of the elderly's healthy lifestyles and ways of coping with problems to successful aging is on the effect of successful aging on the psychopathology level of the elderly. In the study, the idea of the individual within the environment of the ecological approach is centered. This idea defines man as a being who finds meaning with the other and emphasizes both his inner dimension and his relationship with the environment. The current definitions and components of healthy aging, psychopathology, and social work have been studied with the researches carried out within the scope of the research, and then the effects of social work on the welfare of the elderly in the example of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality 'DARULACEZE' have been analyzed by presenting application examples. The universe of the research consists of the elderly people that living in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality DARULACEZE Directorate and residing in the living houses affiliated to the directorate. The sample consists of 173 healthy individuals who are suitable for face-to-face scale application and agree to participate in the study. Within the scope of the relational screening model, which is one of the quantitative research methods, data were obtained by first applying the Personal Information Form, then the Successful Aging Scale and Brief Symptom Inventory to 172 individuals who agreed to participate in the study. The data obtained in the research were subjected to statistical analysis with the SPSS v.21 program. Statistical data are discussed in the literature. As a result of the statistical study, results were obtained that support the hypothesis that successful aging will positively predict the level of psychopathology. According to the results, it has been seen that it is important for healthy aging that individuals feel safe and have an environment in which they can actively participate socially, as signs of healthy aging.
