Hemodiyaliz Tedavisi Alan Hastalarda Sosyal Destek ile Öz Yeterlilik Arasındaki İlişki

Abstract

Amaç: Araştırma, hemodiyaliz tedavisi alan hastalarda sosyal destek ile öz yeterlilik arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel nitelikteki araştırma Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nde bir ilin ve ilçelerindeki hemodiyaliz merkezlerinde tedavi alan 159 hasta ile gerçekleştirildi. Veri toplama araçları olarak Hasta Bilgi Formu, Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği, Genel Öz Yeterlilik Ölçeği kullanıldı. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, Student-t test, Mann Whitney U Test, Kruskal Wallis Test, Person Korelasyon analizi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Hemodiyaliz hastalarının yaş ortalaması, 57,65±9,88 yıl olup, %78’i evli %34,6’sı lise mezunu, %49,7’si ev hanımıdır. Hastaların Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği toplam, aile desteği, arkadaş desteği ve özel bir kişi desteği alt boyut puan ortalamaları sırasıyla; 46,95±13,18, 14,31±4,67, 14,80±4,47, 17,84±4,49 olarak, Genel Öz Yeterlilik Ölçeği toplam ve başlama, yılmama, sürdürme çabası-ısrar alt boyut puanları sırasıyla; 55,97±14,35, 31,39±8,19, 16,43±4,28, 8,16±2,29 olarak bulundu. Çalışmaya katılan hastaların Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği ve alt boyutları ile Genel Öz Yeterlilik Ölçeği ve alt boyutları arasında olumlu yönden istatistiksel olarak anlamlılık bulunmuştur (p<0,01). Sonuç: Hastaların sosyal destek ve öz yeterliliklerinin orta düzeyde olduğu saptanmıştır. Sosyal destek düzeyi artıkça hastaların öz yeterlilik düzeylerinin de artığı saptanmıştır. Hemodiyaliz hastalarının sosyal destek ve öz yeterlilik düzeylerinin belirli aralıklarla değerlendirilmesi ve yükseltilmesi için çalışmalar yapılması önerilebilir.

Aim: The study was conducted to asses the relationship between social support and self-efficacy in patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment. Materials and Method: The descriptive and cross-sectional study was performed with 159 patients undergoing treatment at hemodialysis centres in a city and its districts in the Eastern Anatolia Region. . The data were collected using the Patient Information Form, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, and the General Self-Efficacy Scale. Descriptive statistics, Student-t test, Mann Whitney U Test, Kruskal Wallis Test, and Pearson Correlation analysis were used to analyse the data. Result: The mean age of hemodialysis patients was 57.65±9.88 years, with 78% being married, 34.6% having graduated from high school, and 49.7% being housewives. The mean total score on the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support and its subscales family support, friend support, and support from a significant other were 46.95±13.18, 14.31±4.67, 14.80±4.47, and 17.84±4.49, respectively. The mean total score on the General SelfEfficacy Scale and the subscales of initiative, persistence, and effort to continue were 55.97±14.35, 31.39±8.19, 16.43±4.28, and 8.16±2.29, respectively. A statistically significant positive correlation was found between the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support and its sub-scales and the General SelfEfficacy Scale and its sub-scales (p<0.01). Conclusion: The study revealed that patients’ levels of social support and self-efficacy were moderate. It also showed that as social support levels increased, patients' self-efficacy improved. We recommend conducting periodic evaluations and implementing targeted interventions to assess and enhance both social support and self-efficacy among hemodialysis patients
