2004-2008 Yılları Arasında Türkiye’de Uluslararası Öğrencilik Alanında Çalışan Bir Sivil Toplum Kuruluşu: Sosyal Araştırmalar ve Kültürler Arası Dayanışma Derneği (SADER)

Abstract

Türkiye’de uluslararası öğrenci sayısı son yirmi yılda 20 kattan fazla artarak 350 bine yaklaşmıştır. Bu çalışmada yükselen öğrenci sayısına etki eden ve genelde göz ardı edilen sivil toplum çalışmalarından birine yer verilmiştir. Sosyal Araştırmalar ve Kültürler Arası Dayanışma Derneği, kısa adıyla SADER, bir dernek olarak faaliyet yürütmesine rağmen Türkiye’deki uluslararası öğrencilik üzerine çalışan sivil alan açısından çok etkili olmuştur. Derneğin tüzüğü ve çalışmaları ele alınmış, ortaya çıkan veri ve sonuçlar analiz edilerek SADER’in etkileri üzerine durulmuştur. Derneğin kurulduğu 2004 yılında Türkiye’de uluslararası öğrencilere hitap eden kurum ve kuruluşların olmayışı bu etkiyi daha anlamlı hale getirmiştir. SADER “Yabancı Öğrenci Değil Misafir Öğrenci” ve “Biz Bir Milletiz” gibi sloganları üretmiştir. SADER önce Bab-ı Âlem Uluslararası Öğrenci Derneği’ne dönüşmüş ardından da onun öncülüğünde UDEF’in kurulmasını sağlayan mayayı oluşturmuştur. Bugün UDEF bünyesinde 75 bin uluslararası öğrenciye hitap eden 63 dernek faaliyet yürütmektedir.The number of international students in Turkey has increased more than 20-fold in the last two decades and has approached 350,000. In this study, one of the civil society organisations that have an impact on the rising number of students, which is often overlooked, is included. The Social Research and Intercultural Solidarity Association (SADER), in short SADER, has been very influential in terms of the civilian field working on international studentship in Turkey, even though it operates as an association. The charter and activities of the association are discussed, the data and results are analysed and the impact of SADER is discussed. The lack of institutions and organisations addressing international students in Turkey in 2004, when the association was founded, made this impact more meaningful. SADER has produced slogans such as ‘Guest Student Not Foreign Student’ and ‘We are One Nation’. SADER first transformed into Bab-ı Âlem International Student Association and then, under its leadership, formed the yeast that led to the establishment of UDEF. Today, 63 associations addressing 75 thousand international students are active within UDEF.
