8. Sınıf öğrencilerinin matematiksel problem kurma becerileri ile matematik kaygı düzeyleri arasındaki ilişki

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerinin matematik kaygıları ile problem kurma becerileri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Bu doğrultuda İstanbul Anadolu yakasında bir devlet ortaokulunda sekizinci sınıfta öğrenim gören 43 öğrenci ile çalışılmıştır. Araştırma bir nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama çalışması olup pandemi sebebiyle uygun örnekleme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilere matematik kaygı-endişe ölçeği dağıtılmış ve akabinde araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen problem kurma taslağı sunulmuştur. Verilerin analizinde ki kare testi kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca betimsel analizlere de yer verilmiştir. Çalışmanın dikkat çeken sonucu, yapılandırılmış problem kurmada zorlandıklarıdır. Dahası sadece yapılandırılmış problem kurma becerisi ile matematik kaygısı arasında anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between eighth grade students' math anxiety and problem posing skills. In this direction, it was studied with 43 eighth grade students in a state secondary school on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. The model of the research is correlation survey model and appropriate sampling technique was used due to the pandemic. Mathematics anxiety-anxiety scale was distributed to the students and then the problem posing sketch developed by the researchers was presented. Chi-square test was used in the analysis of the data, and descriptive analyzes were also included. The striking result of the study is that students have difficulty in posing structured problems. Moreover, only a significant relationship was found between structured problem posing skills and math anxiety.
