Feti̇h Sonrasi Ayasofya’sının İslam Medeni̇yet Tasavvuru Değerleri̇ Bağlamında Okunması

Abstract

Her şehir ait olduğu medeniyet tasavvurunun ürünleri olan sanat eserleri içerir. Şehir sakinlerinin eylemlerinin vücut bulmuş hali olan bu yapılar, o medeniyete ait sanatları barındırır. Özellikle şehirlerin simgesel yapılarında o medeniyete ait zirve yapan sanat eserlerini görmekteyiz. Bu çalışmada ilk inşa edildiği zamandan beri İstanbul’un simgesel yapısı olan ve şehrin değişen baskın medeniyet tasavvuruyla yansıttığı değerleri dönüştüren Ayasofya Camii’nin dönüşümü mercek altına alınmıştır. Yapıldığı dönem bambaşka bir medeniyete ait iken İstanbul’un fethinden sonra İslam Medeniyetine ait bir mabet haline gelen yapının dönüşümünü gerçekleştiren adımlar aslında İslam Medeniyetine ait sanat eserlerinin barındırdığı değerleri yapıya katma çabasıdır. Bu çaba ile yapı mabet işlevini korurken bambaşka bir medeniyetin izlerini yansıtıp adeta kimliğini değiştirmiştir. Bu değişim yapıda birtakım mimari ve dekoratif ögelerin eklenmesinin yanında tezyinatında da değişikliklere neden olmuştur. Makale iki başlık halinde anlatılan bu adımların arkasındaki değerleri ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlamıştır. Yapıdaki söz konusu tüm müdahaleler, İslam Medeniyet Tasavvurundaki “tevhid” kavramı gereği belli bir uyumun içindedir. Bu bağlamda yapı ve sonradan eklenen bölümleri de yeryüzündeki herhangi bir cami ile bir uyum içindedir.

Every city contains works of art that are products of the civilization it belongs to. These structures, which are the tangible expressions of the actions of the city's inhabitants, house the arts of that civilization. We mainly observe the pinnacle of the arts of that civilization in the symbolic structures of cities. In this study, the transformation of the Hagia Sophia Mosque, which has been the symbolic structure of Istanbul since its construction and has reflected the values transformed by the changing dominant civilization's perception, is examined closely. When it was built, it belonged to a completely different civilization, but after the conquest of Istanbul, it became a place of worship belonging to Islamic civilization. The steps taken to transform the building are actually efforts to add the values contained in the art of Islamic civilization to the structure. With this effort, the building has reflected the traces of a completely different civilization while preserving its function as a place of worship and has almost changed its identity. This transformation has also led to changes in the architectural and decorative elements of the building. This article aims to reveal the values behind these steps, which are described in two headings. All the interventions in the building are in harmony with the concept of 'tawhid' (the oneness of God) in the Islamic civilization perception. In this context, the building, along with the subsequently added sections, is in harmony with any mosque on Earth.
