Şiirden Tarihi Okumak: II. Mahmud Dönemindeki Askeri Yenilenmenin Klasik Türk Edebiyatına Yansıması

Abstract

Sultan II. Mahmud döneminde yapılan ıslahatlar, Tanzimat dönemine bir hazırlık niteliğindedir. Başta yeniçeri ocağının kaldırılması olmak üzere birçok askeri gelişmeler bu dönemde gerçekleşmiştir. Dönemin aydınları olan şairler, bu gelişmeleri şiirlerine yansıtmışlardır. Bu sebeple bu dönemde yazılan divanlar incelenmiş ve konuyla ilgili şiirler tespit edilerek yeniliklerin yansımaları kaydedilmiştir. Bu çalışmada önce Osmanlı Devleti’nin Avrupa ile olan ilişkisinin mahiyetine değinilmiş daha sonra bu ilişkinin hangi kavramla tanımlanması gerektiği üzerinde durulmuştur. Yeniçeriliğin kaldırılması, Asakir-i Mansure-i Muhammediye ordusunun kurulması; kışlalar, tabyalar, kaleler, tersane, tüfenghane, cephane gibi tamir veya inşa edilen yapılar, başlıklar halinde, şiire yansıdığı ölçüde, ele alınmıştır. Yapılan yeniliklerin arkasındaki coşku, heyecan, ümit, sevgi, nefret gibi duygulara şiir aracılığıyla ulaşılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu makalenin amacı söz konusu dönemdeki olayların gerisinde yer alan duygusal alana şiir vasıtasıyla temas etmektir.

The reforms made during the reign of Sultan Mahmud ll. were preparations for the Tanzimat period. Many military developments, especially the abolition of the Janissaries Corps appeared in this period. The poets, who were the intellectuals of that era, reflected these developments in their poems. Therefore, the divans (poetical works) written in this period were studied carefully and the poems related to the subject were described and the reflections of the reformations were documented. In this study, firstly the nature of the relation between the Ottoman Empire and Europe is mentioned, and then it focuses on the definition of the terms of this alliance. For example, The elimination of the Janissaries, the establishment of the Asakir-i Mansure-i Muhammediye army, the construction or reconstruction of the structures such as barracks, bastions, castles, shipyards, armory and arsenal, are discussed in the form of titles to show how they have been projected in the poems. It is also possible to discover emotions such as enthusiasm, excitement, hope, love and hatred beneath these developments through poems. The purpose of this article is to discuss the emotional area behind historical events through poetry.
