Educational activities are significant in that they have animportant place in the life of the individual and supportmental health. In this study, the relationship betweenmindfulness and academic buoyancy and the mediating roleof academic hope were examined in a longitudinal researchstudy. Data were collected from 287 Turkish universitystudents who participated in the study at 4‐month inter-vals. An autoregressive analysis of the cross‐lagged panelmodel for a half‐longitudinal design was used to test therole of academic hope as a mediator in the relationshipbetween mindfulness and academic buoyancy. The resultsrevealed the direct effect of mindfulness on academic hopeand academic buoyancy. In addition, academic hope wasfound to have a mediating effect on the relationshipbetween mindfulness and academic buoyancy. It was,therefore, concluded that improving mindfulness practicesmay benefit people from both an academic and spiritualperspective.
