Özel eğitimde çalışan öğretmenlerin mesleğe bağlı tükenmişliklerinin performanslarına ve yaşam doyumlarına etkisi

Abstract

Özel eğitim; bireysel gelişim özellikleriyle ve eğitim yeterlilikleri açısından akranlarından anlamlı düzeyde farklılık gösteren bireylerin, özel olarak yetiştirilmiş personel ile eğitim ve sosyal ihtiyaçlarını karşılamak üzere geliştirilmiş, uygun ortamlarda sürdürülen eğitimi ifade etmektir. Bu alanda çalışan öğretmenlerin mesleğe bağlı tükenmişlikleri, performansını ve yaşam doyumunu etkilemektedir. Engele sahip bireylerin eğitiminin zor olması uzun vadede mesleki tükenmişliğe, buna bağlı olarak yaşam doyumuna ve performansa etki etmektedir. Bu çalışmada, özel eğitimde çalışan öğretmenlerin mesleğe bağlı tükenmişliklerinin performanslarına ve yaşam doyumlarına etkisi incelenmiştir Araştırmanın örneklem grubunu İstanbul ilindeki özel eğitim alanında çalışan, kolay örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenen 200 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Verilerin toplanmasında kişisel bilgi formu, örgütsel tükenmişlik ölçeği, öğretmen performans ölçeği ve yaşam doyum ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular neticesinde; özel eğitimde çalışan öğretmenlerin mesleğe bağlı tükenmişliklerinin performans ve yaşam doyumu arasında istatistiki açıdan anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca mesleğe bağlı tükenmişliğin, performans ve yaşam doyumu arasında demografik alt boyutlar açısından istatistiki olarak anlamlı ilişki olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Çalışmanın özel eğitimde çalışan öğretmenlere uygulanarak farklı bir bakış açısı sunmasının yanı sıra literatüre katkı sağlaması amaçlanmıştır.

Special education is amounted to the education carried out in appropriate environments, developed to meet the educational and social needs of individuals who differ significantly from their peers in terms of personal development characteristics and educational competencies. Special education teachers' occupational burnouts affect their performance and life satisfaction. The difficulty in the education of individuals with disabilities affects occupational burnout in the long term, and therefore life satisfaction and performance. In this study, effects of special education teachers' occupational burnouts on their performance and life satisfaction was examined. The sample group of the research consists of 200 special education teachers living in İstanbul and determined by the convenience sampling method. In collecting data personal information form, organizational burnout scale, teacher performance scale and life satisfaction scale were used. As a result of the findings obtained it has been ascertained that there is a statistically significant relationship between occupational burnout of speacial education teachers and their performance, and also between occupational burnout of special educaton teachers and their life satisfaction. In addition it was concluded that this statistically significant relationship is valid for demographic sub-dimensions. The study aims to presenting a different perspective by applying it to special education teachers as well as contribute to the literature.
