Çocuk Gelişimi Öğrencilerinin Temel Psikolojik İhtiyaçlarının Doyumu ve Duygusal Güvenlikleri Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın temel amacı üniversitelerin çocuk gelişimi bölümünde okuyan öğrencilerin, temel psikolojik ihtiyaçlarının doyum düzeyi ile çevresine duyduğu duygusal güvenlik düzeyi arasındaki ilişkiyi farklı değişkenlere göre incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu üniversitelerin lisans ve önlisans Çocuk Gelişimi Bölümlerinde eğitim gören 320 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Veri toplama araçları olarak Kişisel Bilgi Formu; Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Temel İhtiyaçlarının Doyumu Ölçeği ve Duygusal Güvenlik Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın anlamlı sonuçlarına bakıldığında; temel psikolojik ihtiyaçlar yaş grubu değişkeninde; özerklik alt boyutunda, küçük yaş grubu ile büyük yaş grupları arasında büyük yaş grupları lehine anlamlı farklılık saptanmıştır. İlişki alt boyutunda ise durumun tam tersi olarak; küçük yaş grubu ile büyük yaş grupları arasında küçük yaş grupları lehine anlamlı farklılık saptanmıştır. Okul türü değişkeninde; yeterlik ve özerklik alt boyutlarında önlisans grubu lehine anlamlı farklılık saptanmıştır. Sınıf düzeyi değişkeninde; özerklik alt boyutunda küçük sınıflar lehine anlamlı farklılık saptanırken; İlişki ve yıkıcı alt boyutlarda büyük sınıf grubu lehine anlamlı farklılık saptanmıştır. Duygusal güvenlik ihtiyacı okul türü değişkenine göre incelendiğinde; yapıcı alt boyutunda lisans grubu lehine anlamlı farklılık saptanmıştır. Çocuk gelişimi öğrencilerinin duygusal güvenlikleri ile temel ihtiyaçların doyumu arasındaki ilişkiye bakıldığında, çocuk gelişimi öğrencilerinin temel psikolojik ihtiyaçlarının doyumu ile duygusal güvenlikleri arasında negatif düzeyde anlamlı ilişki saptanmıştır. Buna göre çocuk gelişimi öğrencilerinin temel psikolojik ihtiyaçları doyumu düzeyi yükseldikçe duygusal güvenlik ihtiyaçları azaldığı yönünde yorum yapılabilir. Araştırmanın bu sonucundan hareketle daha çok sayıda lisans çocuk gelişimi öğrencisi ile araştırma değişkenleri farklılaştırılarak araştırma yeniden yapılabilir.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the level of satisfaction with basic psychological needs and the level of emotional security of students studying in child development departments of universities according to different variables. The study group of the research consists of 320 undergraduate and associate degree students in the Child Development Departments of universities. Personal Information Form, University Students' Basic Needs Satisfaction Scale and Emotional Security Scale were used as data collection tools. When the significant results of the study are examined, in the age group variable of basic psychological needs, in the autonomy sub-dimension, a significant difference was found between the younger and older age groups in favor of the older age groups. In the relationship sub-dimension, on the contrary, a significant difference was found between younger and older age groups in favor of younger age groups. In the school type variable, a significant difference was found in favor of the associate degree group in the competence and autonomy sub- dimensions. A significant difference was found in the autonomy sub-dimension in favor of the younger grades in the grade level variable. In the relationship and destructive sub-dimensions, a significant difference was found in favor of the large class group. When the need for emotional security was examined according to the school type variable, a significant difference was found in favor of the undergraduate group in the constructive sub-dimension. When the relationship between the emotional security of child development students and the satisfaction of basic needs was examined, a significant negative relationship was found between the satisfaction of basic psychological needs of child development students and their emotional security. Accordingly, it can be interpreted that as the level of satisfaction of basic psychological needs of child development students increases, their emotional security needs decrease. Based on this result of the study, the research can be conducted again with a more significant number of undergraduate child development students by differentiating the research variables.
