İlkokul öğrencilerinin sözcük öğrenme motivasyonu

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın genel amacı ilkokul öğrencilerinin sözcük öğrenme motivasyonlarını çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelemektir. Araştırmada ilkokul öğrencilerinin “sınıf düzeyi, Türkçe dersi başarı notu, okul öncesi eğitim alma, cinsiyet, okul türü, anne ve baba eğitim durumu, anne ve baba mesleği, her gün kitap okuma, kendine ait kitaplık olma, kitap okumaktan zevk alma” değişkenlerine göre farklılaşma durumu tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmanın modeli nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden olan betimsel tarama modeline göre gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Avcılar, Bağcılar, Beylikdüzü ve Esenyurt ilçesinde bulunan devlet ve özel okullarda öğrenim gören 2. sınıf, 3. sınıf ve 4. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem, evrenden kolay ulaşılabilir örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen 518 kız, 521 erkek olmak üzere toplam 1039 ilkokul öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada veriler 24 maddelik “Sözcük Öğrenme Motivasyonu Ölçeği (SÖMÖ)” kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi (One-Way ANOVA) ve Scheffe testi yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda ilkokul öğrencilerinin genel toplam puanlarına göre sözcük öğrenme motivasyonlarının yüksek düzeyde olduğu görülmüştür. İlkokul öğrencilerinin sözcük öğrenme motivasyonları Türkçe dersi başarı notu, sınıf düzeyi, cinsiyet, anne ve baba eğitim durumu, baba mesleği, her gün kitap okuma ve kitap okumaktan zevk alma durumu değişkenlerine göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermektedir. İlkokul öğrencilerinin sözcük öğrenme motivasyonları okul türü, okul öncesi eğitim alma durumu, anne mesleği ve kendine ait kitaplık olması durumu değişkenlerine göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermemektedir.

The general purpose of this study is to examine primary school students' motivation to learn vocabulary in terms of various variables. In the study, primary school students' grade level, Turkish course success grade, pre-school education, gender, school type, mother and father education status, mother and father profession, reading books every day, own library, enjoying reading books according to the variables. differentiation has been detected. The model of the study was carried out according to the descriptive survey model, which is one of the quantitative research methods. The study group of the research consists of 2nd grade, 3rd grade and 4th grade students studying in public and private schools in Avcılar, Bağcılar, Beylikdüzü and Esenyurt districts. The sample consists of a total of 1039 primary school students, 518 girls and 521 boys, who were selected by the easily accessible sampling method from the universe. In the study, the data were obtained by using the 24-item "Vocabulary Learning Motivation Scale (PSÖS)". T-test, one-way analysis of variance (One-Way ANOVA) and Scheffe test were used to analyze the data. As a result of the research, it was seen that primary school students' motivation to learn vocabulary was at a high level according to their general total scores. Vocabulary learning motivations of primary school students show a significant difference according to the variables of Turkish course success grade, grade level, gender, parental education status, father's profession, reading and enjoying reading books every day. Vocabulary learning motivations of primary school students do not show a significant difference according to the variables of school type, pre-school education status, mother's profession and own library.
