Okul mutluluğunu yordayan bir faktör: öğretmenlerin politik becerileri

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı öğretmenlerin politik becerilerinin okul mutluluğunu yordayıp yordamadığının belirlenmesidir. Bu bağlamda araştırmada ilişkisel tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini İstanbul ili Ümraniye ve Üsküdar ilçesi devlet okullarında görev yapmakta olan öğretmenler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi tabakalı örneklem metoduyla seçilmiştir ve her okul kademesinden toplam 440 öğretmen üzerinde bir anket uygulanmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında ‘‘Politik Beceri Ölçeği’’ ve ‘‘Okul Mutluluğu Ölçeği’’ kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi için ilk önce normallik testi yapılarak verilerin normal dağılım gösterdiğine karar verilmiş, daha sonra parametrik testlerin uygulanmasına geçilmiştir. Öğretmenlerin politik becerileri ve algıladıkları okul mutluluğunun cinsiyet ve eğitim düzeyi değişkenlerine göre analizi için t-testi, kıdem ve okul kademesi değişkenlerine göre analizi için ise tek yönlü varyans (ANOVA) analizi uygulanmıştır. İki değişken arasındaki korelasyonun belirlenmesi için Pearson Korelasyon; politik becerilerin okul mutluluğunu yordayıp yordamadığına yönelik olarak ise basit regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda öğretmenlerin politik becerilerinin ve okul mutluluk düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bulgulara göre politik beceriler değişkeninde cinsiyete göre anlamlı farklılık bulunurken diğer değişkenlere göre anlamlı farklılık bulunamamıştır. Okul mutluluğu değişkeninde ise okul kademesi ve eğitim düzeyi değişkenlerinde anlamlı farklılık gözlenirken cinsiyet ve kıdem değişkenlerinde anlamlı farklılığa rastlanmamıştır. Aynı zamanda öğretmenlerin politik becerileri ile okul mutluluğu arasında anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bulgulara göre öğretmenlerin politik becerileri, okul mutluluğunu anlamlı bir şekilde yordamaktadır.

The purpose of this research is to determine whether the political skills of teachers predict school happiness. In this context, the relational survey model was used in the research. The population of the research consists of teachers working at public schools in Ümraniye and Üsküdar in Istanbul province and its districts. The sample of the research was selected through the stratified sampling method and a questionnaire was applied to 440 teachers from every school level. In the collection of the data, "Political Skill Scale" adapted into Turkish by Özdemir and Gören (2015) and "School Happiness Scale" developed by Sezer and Can (2019) were used. Firstly, the normality test was performed, it was decided that the data showed normal distribution and then the parametric tests were applied for the analysis of the data. T-test was performed for the analysis of the teachers' political skills and perceived school happiness according to variables of gender and educational level, and one-way variance (ANOVA) analysis was performed for the analysis according to the variables of seniority and school level. Pearson Correlation was used to determine the correlation between the two variables; Simple Regression analysis was used to identify whether the political skills predicted the sub-dimensions of school happiness. As a result of the analysis, a significant difference was found in the variable of the political skills according to gender, but no significant difference was found according to the other variables. While a significant difference was observed in the variable of school happiness according to the school level and educational level variables, no significant difference was determined in the variables of gender and seniority. In addition, it was concluded that there was a significant relationship between teachers' political skills and school happiness. According to the findings, it was detected that teachers' political skills predicted school happiness (r2=10; p<.05).
