İmam Hatip ortaokulu mezunu öğrencilerin İmam Hatip lisesini tercih etmeme sebepleri (Karaman ili örneği)

Abstract

Bu araştırma, temel eğitimini imam hatip ortaokulunda tamamlayıp ortaöğretim sürecinde imam hatip liselerini tercih etmeyen öğrencilerin durumlarını incelemek için yapılmıştır. Bu inceleme sonucunda öğrencilerin imam hatip liselerine devam etmemesinin altında yatan etkenlerin ortaya konması, bu okullardaki eksikliklerin belirlenmesi ve bu eksiklerin kaynaklarının saptanması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini Karaman il merkezinde ilköğretim sürecini imam hatip ortaokulunda bitiren ancak imam hatip okulları dışında bir lisede eğitimine devam eden 9. ve 10. Sınıf öğrencileri ile bu öğrencilerin velileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada zaman ve maliyet kısıtlılığı nedeniyle uygun örneklem modeli kullanılmıştır. Evreni temsil eden örneklem grubu erişilebilirlik ilkesine ve gönüllülük esasına göre seçilmiş 350 öğrenci ve 30 öğrenci velisinden oluşmaktadır. Bu çalışmada araştırma modellerinden tekil tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Bu bağlamda öğrenciler için yapılandırılmış üçlü likert tipi anket tekniği, veliler için de yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği uygulanmıştır. Öğrencilere yöneltilen soruların cevabı frekans analizi yapılarak yorumlanmıştır. Velilerden elde edilen bulguların analizinde ise betimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılmış ve yoruma tabi tutulmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin kendi bireysel kararları doğrultusunda imam hatip liselerini tercih etmedikleri ortaya çıkmıştır. Onların bu kararlarını etkileyen faktörlerin başında imam hatip liselerinde bulunan meslek derslerinin üniversiteye hazırlık aşamasında başarıya engel olarak görülmesi, öğrencilerin kendilerini bu okullara ait hissetmemeleri, imam hatip liselerinin akademik başarısının yeterli olmadığının düşünülmesi gibi nedenler gelmektedir. Çalışmanın sonunda imam hatip liselerinin daha tercih edilebilir hale gelmesi hususunda gerekli tedbirlerin alınarak uygulanması önerisinde bulunulmuştur.

This research has been conducted to examine the situation of students who completed their primary education in imam hatip school and did not prefer imam hatip high schools in the secondary education process. As a result of this examination, it is aimed to reveal the factors underlying the students' not continuing at imam hatip high schools, to determine the deficiencies in these schools and to determine the sources of these deficiencies. The universe of the research was determined by the 9th and 10th grade students who completed their primary education in the Karaman city center at the imam hatip primary school but continued their education in a high school other than the imam hatip schools. The class is made up of the students and the parents of these students. Appropriate sampling model was used in the study due to time and cost limitations. The sample group representing the universe consists of 350 students and 30 parents of students selected on an accessibility basis and on a voluntary basis. In this study, singular screening model was used from the research models. In this context, structured triple likert type questionnaire technique was applied for students and semi-structured interview technique was applied for parents. The answers to the questions asked to the students were interpreted by frequency analysis. In the analysis of the findings obtained from the parents, the descriptive analysis method was used and subjected to interpretation. As a result of the research, it was revealed that the students did not prefer imam hatip high schools in line with their individual decisions. The main factors affecting these decisions are that vocational courses in imam hatip high schools are seen as an obstacle to success in preparation for university, students do not feel they belong to these schools, and the thought of imam hatip high schools are insufficient for academic success.
