Türkiye’nin medikal turizm SWOT analizi: Covıd-19 örneği

Abstract

Sağlık turizminin alt dallarından biri olan medikal turizme verilen önem gün geçtikçe artmaktadır. Kişilerin hem tedavi hem de tatil amaçlı ülkeler arası yaptığı seyahatlerin artmasıyla medikal turizm ülkeye önemli bir gelir kaynağı sağlamaktadır. Medikal turizmin gelişimini etkileyen faktörler vardır. Bu faktörlerden biri de salgın hastalıklardır. Günümüzde de tüm dünyayı etkisi altına alan koronavirüs pandemisiyle mücadele edilmektedir. Bulaşma riskinin çok yüksek olduğu koronavirüs pandemisi nedeniyle birçok sektör çalışmalarına ara vermiş ve pandemi nedeniyle olumsuz yönde etkilenmiştir. Kişilerin ülkeler ve şehirlerarası seyahat etmelerini gerektiren medikal turizm sektörü de koronavirüs pandemisinden etkilenebilecek sektörler arasındadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, COVID-19'un sağlık turizmi faaliyetleri üzerindeki etkilerini tespit etmek ve Türkiye'nin SWOT analizini yapmaktır. Türkiye’nin güçlü yönü "pandeminin öncesi, esnası ve sonrasında hızlı bir şekilde önlemlerin alınmış olması”, zayıf yönünün ise “sağlık sistemlerinin tanıtım ve pazarlamasının yetersiz olması” olduğu ifade edilmektedir. Öte yandan, Türkiye’nin sağlık turizmindeki fırsatının “pandemiyle olan mücadelesinin diğer birçok gelişmiş ülkeye göre daha iyi yönetilmesi”, tehditinin ise “yurtdışından gelen kişilerin bulaşıcı hastalıkları daha fazla yayma ihtimali” olduğu ifade edilmektedir.
