Covıd-19 Salgını Sürecinde İlişki Doyumu ve İlişki Hoşnutsuzluğunun İncelenmesi

Abstract

Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı, COVID-19 sürecinde Türkiye’de yaşayan kişilerin ilişki doyumu düzeyleri ile ilişki hoşnutsuzluğu düzeylerinin sosyo-demografik değişkenler ile ilişkisinin incelenmesidir. Araştırma, COVID-19 salgınının başlangıç döneminde romantik ilişkilere etkisini ele alan bir çalışma niteliği taşımaktadır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma nicel yöntemle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Katılımcılara rastgele örnekleme yoluyla, elektronik tabanlı anket yöntemiyle (Google Forms aracılığıyla) ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmanın evrenini, Türkiye’nin çeşitli illerinde yaşamakta olan ve romantik bir ilişki içerisinde bulunan 411 birey oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak; kişisel bilgi formu, İlişki Doyumu Ölçeği ve Evlilik Hoşnutsuzluğu Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Çalışma çerçevesinde evlilik hoşnutsuzluğu, ilişki hoşnutsuzluğu olarak kabul edilmiştir. Verilerin analizi için Spearman’s korelasyon analizi, Mann Whitney U Testi ve Kruskal Wallis Testi uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: COVID-19’un ilişki yaşamına olumlu etki ettiğini düşünen grubun olumsuz etki ettiğini düşünen gruba kıyasla hoşnutsuzluk puanlarının daha düşük, ilişki doyumu puanlarının ise daha yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur (χ 2 = 43.047, p<0.01). COVID-19’un ilişki türüne göre etkisine bakıldığında; gruplar arasında ilişki doyumu açısından herhangi bir fark bulunmazken, evli grubun evlilik hoşnutsuzluğu puanlarının evli olmayan gruptan anlamlı derecede yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir (U = 15579.500, p = 0.023). Sonuç: Araştırma sonucunda COVID-19 sürecinden olumsuz etkilenen bireylerin ilişki doyumları daha düşük bulunmuştur. Özellikle evli katılımcıların ilişki doyumu daha düşük, ilişki hoşnutsuzluğu daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Ayrıca çeşitli sosyo-demografik özellikler ve yaşam koşullarının etkisi ortaya konmuştur. Bu bulguların, özellikle pandemi sürecinde, çiftler için psiko-sosyal destek programları geliştirilirken yardımcı olacağı düşünülmektedir.

Objective: The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between relationship satisfaction, relationship disaffection and socio-demographic variables of people living in Turkey during COVID-19 pandemic. This research evaluates the early effects of COVID-19 outbreak on romantic relationships. Materials and Methods: A quantitative method was used for the study. Participants were reached through random sampling method, via an electronic-based questionnaire (Google Forms). The sample of the study consists of 411 individuals living in various provinces of Turkey. Personal information form, Relationship Assessment Scale and Marital Disaffection Scale were used for data collection. It was regarded as “relationship” disaffection instead of marital disaffection for the study. Spearman’s correlation analysis, Mann Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis Test were used for analysis. Results: It was found that the group who thinks that COVID-19 has a positive effect on their relationship has lower disaffection scores and higher relationship satisfaction scores compared to the group who thinks it has a negative effect (χ 2 = 43.047, p <0.01). The differences for different types of relationships were also analyzed. While there was no difference between the groups in terms of relationship satisfaction, it was found that the marital disaffection scores of the married group were significantly higher than the not-married group (U = 15579.500, p = 0.023). Conclusions: As a result of the study, individuals who were adversely affected by the COVID-19 process were found to have lower relationship satisfaction. Especially married partners had lower relationship satisfaction and higher relationship disaffection. Also, the effects of various socio-demographic attributes and life conditions were detected. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of psychosocial support programs for couples, especially during the pandemic.
