Analysis of the Compatibility of SDGs With Development Goals Based on Divine Principles

Abstract

This chapter examines SDGs based on divine principles and analyses the ancient connection between these principles and human development needs. The chapter argues that harmonizing the philosophy of SDGs to the divine principles and engaging Muslim institutions would enhance the role and benefits of SDGs to a wide audience across the globe. This chapter has been structured into the following five sections including the introduction. The subsequent section two reviews the extant literature on divine principles, sustainable development and SDGs. The third section discusses SDGs and their philosophies. Section four analyses the compatibility of SDGs with sustainable development based on divine principles. The final section five concludes the study and provides suggestions for way forward.
