Hadislerde "Sâlih" Sözcüğünün Kullanımı Üzerine Bir Tetkik

Abstract

Hadislerdeki kullanımını tetkik ettiğimiz sâlih sözcüğü, lügat anlamına paralel şekilde faydalı, faziletli, hayırlı/iyi, sadık, samimi, doğru ve güzel olan, helal, işe yarar, elverişli, bozukluk ve yanlışlıktan arınmış, barışçı, uyumlu, kaliteli vb. manalarla öne çıkmaktadır. Üstelik sözcük, pek çok âyette görüldüğü üzere hadislerde de öncelikle dinî ve dünyevî bakımdan hayırlı, faydalı iş anlamında sâlih amel veya hayırlı, faziletli kimse anlamında sâlih kul şeklinde bir eylemin yahut bir insanın niteliği olarak yer alır. Aynı zamanda sözcük, genel ya da muayyen bir içeriği tavsif eder. Diğer taraftan ilgili sözcük, sâlih memleket, sâlih ev, sâlih aile, sâlih arkadaş, sâlih komşu, sâlih mal, sâlih evlat, sâlih rüya gibi birçok ibarede, toplumlarda az ya da çok kıymet atfedilen daha spesifik ve daha geniş yelpazedeki kelimeler grubunun vasfı olmuştur. Ayrıca şuna da vurgu yapalım ki, hadislerdeki kullanım, genelde Kur’an, özelde Kur’an merkezli çalışmalardaki kullanımla üslup ve muhteva yönüyle benzerliklere ve farklılıklara sahip olup, nispeten daha pratik ve kapsamlı gözükmekte ve tabii olarak sözcüğün anlaşılmasına katkı sağlamaktadır.

The word sālih, whose usage in hadīths we have analyzed, stands out with the meanings of beneficial, virtuous, auspicious/good, loyal, sincere, true and beautiful, halal, useful, convenient, free from corruption and falsehood, peaceful, harmonious, quality, etc., similar to its lexical meaning. Moreover, the word appears in hadīths, as in many verses, primarily as a characteristic of an action or a person, such as sālih deed in the sense of a good and beneficial deed in religious and worldly terms, or sālih servant in the sense of a good and virtuous person. At the same time, the word describes a general or specific content. On the other hand, the related word has become the characterization of a more specific and wider range of words attributed more or less value in societies in many phrases such as sālih country, sālih houme, sālih family, sālih friend, sālih neighbor, sālih property, sālih son, sālih dream, etc. Let us also emphasize that the usage in the hadiths, in general with the Qur’an and Qur’an-centered studies, shows stylistic and substantive similarities and differences, while being more practical and comprehensive, thus aiding understanding of the term.
