İlköğretim öğretmenlerinde sosyal hizmet algısı ve okul sosyal hizmeti

Abstract

Ülkemizde mağdur ve suça sürüklenen çocuk sayısı her geçen gün artmakta, buna karşın çocuklara ve ailelerine ulaşılabilirlik açısından anahtar konumda olan okullar, mevcut sistemde sorunların çözümü noktasında yetersiz kalmaktadır. Okullarda; karşılaşılan biyo-psiko-sosyal, ekonomik ve kültürel sorunların çözümüne yönelik önleme faaliyetlerinin gerçekleştirilmesi ve gerekli politikaların geliştirilmesi ihtiyacı ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu ihtiyacın giderilmesi, çocuk refahının sağlanması ve sürdürülmesi noktasında okul sosyal hizmetinin önemi ortaya çıkmaktadır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Küçükçekmece İlçesinde farklı sosyo-ekonomik seviyedeki semt okullarında görevli 180 ilköğretim öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Okullar Küçükçekmece İlçe Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü ile yapılan görüşme sonucu belirlenmiştir. Araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen görüşme formu ile öğretmenlerin sosyo-demografik, eğitim ve meslek bilgileri, okullardaki sosyal sorunlara yönelik görüş ve tutumları, sosyal hizmet algıları ve hem sorunların çözümü hem de okul sosyal hizmetine yönelik görüş ve önerileri saptanmaya çalışılmıştır. İstatistiksel analiz için SPSS 24.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda okullarda karşılaşılan sorunlar ve bu sorunlara yönelik mevcut psiko-sosyal desteğin nicelik ve nitelik bakımından yetersizliği ortaya konmuştur. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin; sosyal hizmet mesleğine yönelik bilgilerinin, mesleğin amaç ve kapsamı doğrultusunda değerlendirildiğinde yetersiz olduğu, fakat çoğunlukla sosyal hizmet algılarının olumlu yönde olduğu ve okuldaki sorunların çözümü noktasında okul sosyal hizmetini ihtiyaç olarak gördükleri saptanmıştır.

In Turkey, the number of children who are under the risk of becoming the subject or the object of a crime increasing every day. Yet Schools which play an important role to reach out the children and their families, remain insufficient to solve the problems in the present system. In schools, the need to solve bio psycho social, economic and cultural problems, initiate preventive work and establish necessary policy emerge. In order to meet this need and provide and sustain prosperity of children, school social work plays an important role. The sample of the study is 180 elementary school teachers working in Kucukcekmece district. With the help of the questionnaire which was prepared by the researcher, it was aimed to find out the demographics including educational and professional backgrounds of the teachers, their thoughts and attitudes towards social problems in schools, their attitudes of social service and in school social work and recommendations. The selection of the schools are based on the socioeconomic level of their districts. Therefore the results could be compared according to socioeconomic variables. The data was analyzed with Spss 24.0 package program. According to the results of the study, the School psychosocial support Services are not sufficient in terms of quality and quantity. Moreover it was found that the knowledge of teachers in social work as a profession was inadequate, however their perception of social work was mostly positive. Teachers believe that school social work are needed in order to solve the school problems.
