Eğitim toplumu dönüştürebilir mi? Metinler arası inceleme

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, eğitim ve toplum ilişkisini irdeleyen düşünürlere ait farklı ülkelerde ve dönemlerde yazılmış hatırat, anlatı veya hikâye özelliği gösteren eserlerden yola çıkarak eğitim toplumu dönüştürebilir mi? sorusunun derinlemesine incelenmesidir. Eğitimin birey ve toplum üzerindeki etkileri irdelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma nitel bir araştırma olup anlatı araştırması deseninde planlanmıştır. Ele alınan eserler içerik analizi yöntemiyle incelenmiştir. Eserlerde ortak olacak temalar kodlama yapılarak belirlenmiş ve tematik bir çerçeve içerisinde anlamlı bir bütün oluşturacak şekilde betimlenerek yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmanın nitel örneklemini ölçüt örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilmiş ''Türkiye'nin Maarif Davası (Nurettin Topçu), Ezilenlerin Pedagojisi (Paulo Freire), Okulsuz Toplum (İvan İllich), Eğitim: Bir Kitle İmha Silahı (John Taylor Gatto), Eğitim Toplumu Değiştirebilir mi? (Micheal W. Apple), Beyaz Zambaklar Ülkesinde (Gregoriy Petrov) ve Demokrasi ve Eğitim (John Dewey)'' adlı eserler oluşturmaktadır. Eserler incelenirken veriler doküman analizi yardımıyla toplanmış olup içerik analizi yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. İçerik analizi neticesinde 3 tema ve 9 alt tema belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada ele alınan eserlerden yola çıkarak her eserde eğitim ile ilgili farklı bakış açıları ve problem algıları olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte sunulan çözüm önerileri de farklılık göstermektedir. Eğitim sisteminde etkin olan unsurların toplumsal dönüşüm sürecinde daha etkili olduğu düşüncesi eserlerde tespit edilen ortak görüştür.

The aim of this study is, can education transform the society by starting from the works that show the characteristics of memoirs, narratives or stories written in different countries and periods belonging to thinkers who examine the relationship between education and society? is an in-depth analysis of the question. It has been tried to examine the effects of education on the individual and society. The research is a qualitative research and was planned in a narrative research pattern. The works discussed were analyzed by content analysis methods. The themes that will be common in the works were determined by coding and interpreted in a thematic framework in a way that would form a meaningful whole. The qualitative sample of the research consists of the works named ''Türkiye'nin Maarif Davası (Nurettin Topcu), Ezilenlerin Pedagojisi (Paulo Freire), Okulsuz Toplum (İvan İllich), Eğitim: Bir Kitle İmha Silahı (John Taylor Gatto), Eğitim Toplumu Değiştirebilir mi? (Micheal W. Apple), Beyaz Zambaklar Ülkesinde (Gregoriy Petrov) and Demokrasi ve Eğitim (John Dewey)'' selected by criterion sampling method. While examining the works, the data were collected with the help of document analysis and analyzed with the help of content analysis. As a result of the content analysis, 3 themes and 9 sub-themes were determined. Based on the works discussed in the research, it has been determined that there are different perspectives and problem perceptions related to education in each work. However, the proposed solutions also differ. The idea that the active elements in the education system are more effective in the social transformation process is the common view found in the works.
