Epilepsi hastalarında podcast ile eğitimin ilaç algısına, stigma düzeyine ve epilepsi öz yönetimine etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışma epilepsi hastalarında podcast aracılığı ile eğitim vererek hastaların ilaç algısına, stigma düzeyine ve epilepsi öz yönetimine etkisini incelemek amacıyla ön test son test randomize kontrollü olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bir Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Epilepsi Polikliniği'ne başvuran epilepsi tanılı hastaların 35'i müdahale grubu, 35'i kontrol grubu olarak belirlenmiştir. Veriler "Hasta Bilgi Formu", "İlaçlar Hakkında İnançlar Anketi", "Hissedilen Stigma Ölçeği", "Öz Yönetim Ölçeği" ile değerlendirilmiştir. Kontrol grubuna rutin poliklinik eğitimi verilirken, müdahale grubu olarak belirlenen hasta grubuna 6 bölümden oluşan yaklaşık 25 dakikalık epilepsi hastalığına ilişkin bilgiler içeren podcast linki aracılığı ile eğitim verilmiştir. Yapılan istatistiksel değerlendirmeler sonucunda kontrol grubunun ilaç algısı, stigma düzeyi ve öz yönetim düzeyinde anlamlı bir değişim saptanmamıştır. Müdahale grubunda ise 1.ay ve 3. Ay sonuçlarında ilaç algısı, stigma düzeyi ve öz yönetim düzeyinde olumlu yönde değişim saptanmıştır. Bu çalışma, epilepsi hastalarında podcast eğitiminin rutin poliklinik eğitimi ile karşılaştırıldığında daha etkin olduğunu göstermektedir.

This study was conducted as a pre-test post-test randomized controlled study to examine the effect of podcast education on patients' perception of medication, stigma level and epilepsy self-management in epilepsy patients. Thirty-five of the patients diagnosed with epilepsy who applied to the Epilepsy Outpatient Clinic of a Training and Research Hospital were determined as the intervention group and 35 as the control group. Data were evaluated with the "Patient Information Form", "Beliefs about Medications Questionnaire", "Perceived Stigma Scale", and "Self-Management Scale". While routine outpatient clinic education was given to the control group, the patient group, which was determined as the intervention group, was educated through a podcast link containing information about epilepsy disease for approximately 25 minutes consisting of 6 sections. As a result of statistical evaluations, no significant change was found in the drug perception, stigma level and self-management level of the control group. In the intervention group, a positive change was found in the perception of medication, stigma level and self-management level in the 1st and 3rd month results. This study shows that podcast training is more effective in epilepsy patients compared to routine outpatient clinic training.
